You seen him play live before Spudgun?
P.S. New Aphex Twin album on the way out (announced on the darknet), if you haven't heard. What a treat (potentially)
No man - had the chance at Reading one year, but missed it through being too fucked. Got there just as some people were fleeing a gang of people with cereal box masks on, to an ear splitting tone wrapping up the set. Would love to. Have you spliff?

There's a tracklisting and everything. Think it's pretty solid this time Shambz

Yeah this was a least a decade ago - and I did feel a right cunt, bearing out the Strokes instead. Reading was never a good scene (wicker man toilet incinerations and Slipknot), but we always ended up going. Bit more discerning these days![]()
I know thats not any constilation to you having missed Aphex Twin haha, but the Strokes are aight. I dont mean to rub it in, but you must have been absolutely suicidal for having missed him! Okay, that maybe did rub it in a bit haha (and saying the info (this time) came from "the darknet" makes you sound like a bellend - please use proper terminology)
Shambles you seem to be on a tune posting mission tonight!
How did you manage to find such a broad selection of tunes before youtube? Was it all down to crate digging? Because a lot of them seem too obscure to have been given any limelight, so it must have taken a shyte load of effort to piece together such a collection.

Mostly by having truly outstanding taste in music combined with some truly outstanding record shops selling stuff dirt cheap in the early-mid 90s. Was actually dead easy to create a drop-dead gorgeous record collection from scratch at the time. I did so several times over. Smack is a helluva drug
Oh, and speaking of Gorgeous...
808 State - Lemon
(fun fact: the one and only time i've ever attempted "mad dj skillz" i mixed 808 state into cypress hill... or t'other way 'round... either way, apparently i did dun nail it cos jaws dropped... never tried since cos i'm not sure i could ever reattain such levels of genius)
808 State - Nimbus (live on Granada Tonight '92)
Why ain't local news like that any more?!?

). Some were lucky finds - mainly due to quality packaging/cover and/or sheer cheapness to be sure, but mostly I bought stuff I knew I wanted or stuff I'd had recommended to me. I almost never paid more than a fiver for a (vinyl) album or three quid for an EP/12" unless they were brand new. (Mint) second hand copies could be easily picked up for a quid or two if you waited a couple months. Prices these days have gone nuts... although I was quite annoted to see my copies of KLF's Chill Out and Space priced at £50 apiece in the window of the record shop the day afte I sold 'em the last time for a bag

For the most part I knew exactly what I was picking (ya cheeky cunt ya). BIG PUN ft Inspectah Deck & Prodigy - Tres Leches (prod RZA)
(before dan gets too excited, it's not "that" prodigy - still a quality hippity-hoppity tune all the same)
London Posse - Money Mad
"Aaaaaal-RY-eeeeet!"

Bet seeing that vinyl collection slowly buildup was a thing of beauty. Not quite as satisfying scrolling down I-tunes
Would have loved scratching away with some old school hip-hop vinyls. That sounds absolutely glorious to meBet seeing that vinyl collection slowly buildup was a thing of beauty.
