Had some sushi for lunch from M&S. Seemingly impossible to get a falafel wrap in any of the cafes near where I work, which is what I really wanted.

I dont like that fake sashimi in supermarkets they use smoked salmon and cooked prawns.

If the fish isnt still breathing its not the real thing...

Definitely seen cooked prawns and fish on "real" sushi in Japan. I think people can be a bit precious about these things, but agree that supermarket sushi is hardly the best money can buy.

Yeah fuck that shit - or when they put cooked tinned tuna in it. They're cruising for a bruising.

What, this stuff?

edit: I love Kewpie, wish it wasn't so outrageously priced in the UK

I'm partial to a California Roll, or whatever, now and again, so I'm not an ultra purist. But seeing grey, cooked, minced tuna encased in a maki roll and it being labelled sushi....nah. Definitely nah.

I am being slightly facetious. Mayo is definitely not uncommon in Japan, especially since it is an essential topping on various fried delights like okonomiyaki and takoyaki.

If you haven't tried either I highly recommend them. There's a place in Brixton Village called Okan that does delicious okonomiyaki.

^^ Looks nice

I've been tempted to go to the lengths of crossing the river for a day because I've heard so much about what's going down food-wise in Brixton. Only worry is I believe my ex's lair is in Brixton :sus:

There's some really great places to eat in Brixton these day, definitely worth the possible ex run in :p
