amphetamines has one of the strongest antidepressant and anti-anhedonic effects out of most of the pharms of today. Sadly because of addiction and its reinforcing factors prevent it from being used as a traditional antidepressant.
Do you think its possible to create a new drug that acts similar to amphetamine with the dopamine receptors but without the dependence and addiction? It seems Wellbutrin is the only thing that is close, however wellbutrin effects norepenephrine more than dopamine .. Amineptine and Nomefesine were taken off the market.Other than that there are no new DRI drugs out there. Is there anyway to release the DRI potential of amphetamines while removing the addiction and side effect profile yet still retain its great effect at relieving depression and anhedonia?
