Festivals 2014

looked like alot were using, can u link me to the arrests? im going tomorrow and taking my script with me i hope they let me in with my valium ! its my meds or i might have to withdraw fully for five days :/..

was thinking of taking al lad/amt over with me but fuck that! i know a guy in belgium who says i will meet the people i want to meet (guessing campsite will be best for that) anyone comfirm this ?

Was on reddit. 100 odd arrests out of 120k is pretty small. About 20 were dealer sized arrests apparently

Thinking about going to to Mint Festival in Lincolnshire in September, pretty decent lineup for the price and quite a few DJs I've not seen yet that I'd like to see.

Yes, and nope, the sound was rather excellent for the most part. Still recovering from it but was a mightily good festival. Recommended.

really want to go to boomtown, NOFX are headlining and there's a bunch of great electronic music there too. Weird but a great combination for me.

Fair enough. Dub Phizix is apparently throwing a free party for anyone with beatherder wrist bands sometime in the future as the sound was terrible on the stage he was on. Something about the council imposing a really low volume limit.

I totally recommend it.. I absolutely love the mix of ska punk and electronic stuff. Plus Arcadia is an amazing stage and um.. yeah.. it'll be amazing.

Oh, really? I didn't catch him as he was on one of the smaller stages and clashed with something else, so that might have had quieter sound, yeah. Will keep a watch out for that then. Ta! :)

Secret Garden Party was considerably better than I expected, if a little hot. Spectacular fireworks and a good crowd, and some nice thought put into quirky extras here and there.

Kosmicare UK are looking for a female volunteer to fill a last minute cancellation so there is a free ticket available there if that sounds like a good way to enjoy a festival to you.
Glad to hear it was a good'un! I would love to help with things like this ^ in the future but how much experience do you think they want in terms of first aid/trip-sitting? I'm full of nerdy drug knowledge but lacking in the practicalities, I think.

Because of the minimal overlap with conventional event welfare the key requirements are personality traits over experience. First aid training is a bonus but ultimately a friendly face and understanding nature are most important, with additional key training provided by mentoring.

Ahh, many thanks for that - it's definitely something I'll look into a bit more then, as that sounds like my cup of volunteering tea. :)

Did Tomorrowland weekend just gone and while not everyone's cup of tea I loved it. Some top techno, and the main stage at night was excellent if a little scary. Managed to constantly source good product from those friendly dutch types.

Gold Bars & Pink Grenades did the trick

We've still got a few stragglers hanging around here since last weekends Secret Garden Party but by all accounts they had a great time & can't wait to go again next year.

Going V Fest next weekend. Its fairly shit and very expensive, but I bought the ticket ages ago and promised people id go. Its conveniently close to home so we end up going most years. Line up is wank this year, I'm only interested in Miles Kane and that's about it. I think this will be my last trip to V, its far too commercial.

Zoo Project Fest next month. Never been before. Its in the woods and theres house music. Whats not to like? %)

Has anyone ever been to a festival with their family? If so, did you get off your tits in front of them?

Reason I ask.....

Usually I go with my brother and his missus, and a couple of mine/his/her mates. They both like a dabble and ive been going to festivals for years and getting pilled up with them etc... No issues with that. However, this year he invited my mom, uncle and auntie along, just a gesture I think, and they all said yes, bought their tickets and are ACTUALLY COMING! :sus: None of them are against drugs or anything and the mother knows I like to partake in some chemical experimentation from time to time, but I still wouldn't feel comfortable getting mashed in front of them!

So, do I leave the drugs at home and save them for Zoo Project next month? (drug free festival doesn't sound appealing), take drugs in low doses so its not obvious im on them, or do I just lose them for a few hours each night at the festival and go do my own thing? %)

Anyone have experience of this situation? :\

No, but I've seen quite a few families that were pretty wasted at festivals.. quite often father and teenage kids.. always surprises me but it must be a nice bonding experience. You could just get very slightly mashed and not overdo it.. maybe offer your family some too. Could be fun!

Boomtown was amazing. :D :D

Boomtown went hard, but noticed there was a massive up in numbers of security and police on site and I swear music finished much later last year?
Good news though: Every single person that bought MDMA, actually got MDMA. Last year I found a fair bit was methylone so it looks like that ban is coming in useful

Yeah, there were a few more police on site but they were ignoring the drugs and just catching the thieves.. music was the same times as last year anyway - is always a shame about the midnight finish on Sunday though.. I may well have ended up dancing at the tea/toast van after the music finished last night. They had some good tunes. :)
