whiskey - the cheap stuff is just fucking horrible, the expensive stuff is like eating caviar when you want a burger.

If it's spelt like that on the bottle, no wonder it tastes horrible. :D

I know what you mean though, I keep meaning to get some of this in:

Not cheap stuff though. :|

See the embarrassing drug stories thread. I've got form for getting wankered on port :D

Never drank it in years (really bad experience) - wouldn't know when to drink it, what to have it with etc. Gin / Port -two drinks I avoid

Not sure if your trying to make a point ? (sorry I'm a bit slow tonight) I've had these Whiskeys by the glass that are the price of a bottle (or a few) of shop bought stuff for a 'glass' - which is a fucking sip at best.

Whiskey, with an e... is the Irish/American spelling. So it's not Scottish if it has an'e' on the bottle. Just a little joke but also true. :p

I forget, I use a lot of American words and terms. Didn't even understand your post (didn't see the difference tbh).

There aren't many spirits I actually like on their own, not mad about beer either but was forced to have a carlsberg at Wembley as they didn't seem to have any cider. Cost £5 as well, absolute pisstake. At least it was nice and cold.

Haven't had that stuff in yonks either... I was over at a friends house & his parent's were having a Strawberry & Pimms party. We half-inched a bottle of Pimms & retired upstairs away from the guest to drink it.

Can't say I'd go out of my way to drink the stuff...

Absolutely. I'l still always roll with special brew if I know I'm going to be drinking it unrefridgerated, a warm one is actually quite nice.

Actually, I find the 'brew' type beers to be much nicer when very cold (pretty much like any lager is better cold). To Bearlove; yes, I do like the taste of strong beers, but as others have said, it is an acquired taste. However, Special Brew is probably the worst tasting of the super lagers - I much prefer Skol Super or Kestrel Super. Tennents is a bit closer to Brew IMO. But, if it's 9% and gets ya fucked, I'd pretty much drink owt =D

Anyone here low enough to drink Polish/ European super strength lager? far cheaper than Special Brew or Tennents. Had many a good night on cans of Perla, Debowe Monche, and that other one the off-license sells that I can't remember the name of.

Pretty much only drink those when it comes to beer these days. At home/ other peoples houses I mainly drink red wine, super strength beer, cheap whiskey and, if worst comes to worst, Frosty Jacks haha.

Drank so much this past year it's ridiculous, need to ease up on it a bit. Weirdly enough from 18-late 19 I never really got drunk. First year of uni I did a fair bit on nights out, second year it increased to getting drunk like twice a week (along with the other substances that cropped up that year.) Third year has just been an absolute mess, a gargantuan amount of drinking (both socially and by myself, but predominately socially), endless benzos and MDMA nights with friends, regular LSD trips, Mephedrone, Cocaine, and various wacky and weird RC's. Oh and plenty of weed of course.

Which isn't the way it's supposed to be, and is probably why I did best in first year. Which sucks. But ah well. Things just work differently for different people I guess.

I don't tend to drink anything I don't enjoy unless I'm already fucked and someone else gives it to me. I drink a lot to be fair, I don't ever feel like I do because I've obviously got a high tolerance to alcohol now so I don't get drunk quickly but I generally see off a couple of bottles of wine a week. Unless I've been doing drugs, then I hardly drink at all.

I've never felt like I have a problem with drinking though because I drink solely for the taste, I never have a real craving or urge for it and would rather go without than drink something I don't like.

My first year of uni was a drug fuelled blur so god knows what next year's going to be like. I finally started to meet some more drug friendly people towards the end of last term as well so if that's any indication I'm in for a mental one (let's hope).

I used to drink Okocim Mocne all the time, as the local offy stocked it. The thing that always makes me laugh about Polish beers is the way they tend to be specifically marketed and packaged for men or women, though obviously the mocne beers are all man. If you're a bloke, try going to your local Polish shop and buying Zwyiec. I dare you. :D

Those are some nasty drinks you're drinking, btw. Probably not all that remarkably nasty by student standards though.

That strong wine I was trying to think of the other night was 'Thunderberry / Thunderbird' :D. I haven't had a drink for three days (pretty good for me :D).

Typical for these things to come randomly into your head a few days later. :)

Funny that... an American one ain't it but you said you got it in the UK?

Cuppas and then Ethanol.
I really should be careful as I feel Pancreatitis coming on but I am eating the most I have in years so that's likely keeping it at bay....
(Gin + White & Red Vermouth)

Strange, I racked my mind the other night trying to remember what it was called, hadn't gave it another thought until it popped into my head today! I always thought it was by a UK producer like 20/20 etc (used to like that stuff aswell). All the local or small corner shops, off licences used to sell it - can't remember ever seeing it in supermarkets.
