What kind of shape is your body in?

Yup alcohol can be used as an energy source. Even though it can't be stored as fat... the rest of what you eat that is surplus can be.

The big difference would be the drug taking, sexy dancing & not eating properly because of it...

I dropped 3 stone when i stopped drinking, I donlt know much about how it makes you put on weight , i know its full of calories.

I drank a bottle of whiskey a day for around 2 years, occasionally switching to Special or Red K when the whiskey was giving my gits a hard time. I'm sure you carb binge when you drink heavily as well.

I'm a long way from anti alcohol but if your drinking everyday and want to loose weight, there is no doubt stopping will be a bog help in achieving your goal

Booze is brutal when abused, going through withdrawal must be horrific, CNS rebound from it is bad enough

A bottle of wine a day is about a third of the average womans daily calorie allowance. 8 stone is less than than the average weight of a woman in the UK so a bottle of wine a day is more than a third of the daily calorie allowance. Beer is worse, if anything. Spirits aren't as bad if you're drinking them straight (especially as you drink less in terms of volume) but problems occur when mixing with sugary drinks.

Alcohol also has the issue in which it causes people to eat like a fucking mammoth, not want to do any training to physical lethargy and finally, alcohol dehydrates you and being hydrated is a vital to fat burning.

If friends come to me wanting to lose significant amounts of weight in a short period, the first thing off the menu is always alcohol.

Yeah, I've drunk shitloads in my time, but been lucky enough never to get the DTs, whereas I know people who get the shakes the following day when they really haven't drunk that much.

I've had WDs from GBL before though, which I think is more or less the same thing, and it was probably the worst I've felt in my life - seriously thought I was going to die.

Thanks for that it confirms my experience, I ate utter shite all day at work and had shit load of rubbish 'snacks' of an evening.

Whiskey I always drink with no-sugar lemonade ( a dash for luck !) I can honestly going through a period of switching to RED K or Special Brew and thinking I was doing really well if I only drank the 6 cans of and evening with a couple of whiskeys and not the full 8.

Clearly I was very unhappy at the time and all that booze did fek all for that either, the only good thing about having a horrendous Benzo habit is you can CT booze. The whole period was a fekin train wreck that I deeply hope I never repeat.

Given my age (43) I'm not in bad shape IMO. I've suffered Psoriasis for over 20 years. I've never been someone to consider myself even as much as average in the looks department but as the years have gone by I care less about such things, this doesn't mean I don't fuss about my clothes and such, this scruffy look takes work ...believe ;)
Sorry to hear about your Psoriasis, Allein, although looks like you have learnt to live with it. Your last quote is similar to Dolly Parton's "It costs a lot of money to look this cheap", hahaha ;) x

Yesterday I went to the gym and this woman gave me a wellness evaluation. She had me go on a special scale called a Tanita Scale. I found out that I had the metabolism of a 40-year-old. I'm only 30.

My gut hangs over my knees, the last woman to give me a blow job never made it back. She's probably still under there I just can't be arsed to look...

I got asked for ID at the health insurance office because they wouldn't believe I was 40

I can't touch my toes but then again I couldn't my whole life

Rakeish?:\ Though somehow my complexion looks quite healthy. Fuck knows how, i go 1 or 2 nights on stim all nighters far too often, and rarely cach up on that lost sleep during the day, finding that stims and kratom keep me going just fine. I barely eat anything except yoghurt, with a bit of kratom in it.

I constantly get told I look younger than I am. The last one was security at Camden Palace when he checked my passport. I put it down to good genes cos both my parents have always looked good for their age. My body isn't in bad shape although I don't do any specific exercise except for crunches everyday to keep my stomach flat. I eat resonably well without being obsessive, lots of fresh fruits and raw veggies but I've just had fish n chips followed by flapjack and a lolly tonight. I take lots of supplements, amino acids in particular. I buy bulk powders and make up morning and bedtime mixes, especially gaba upregulators, brain boosters and antioxidents. I also do quite a few stim all nighters that don't seem to do me too much harm :)
