Robin Williams on Crack

Good shout Dan, Bill Burr is spot on…again another good Netflix watch.

This is so fucking spot on !!!

No Reason to hit a Woman

Spot on indeed, brilliant

Stewart Lee is my favourite stand up - yes he does pretentious, guardianista, intellectual stuff, but always while taking the piss out of the same (so you can feel clever and superior at the same time); i love the way he insults the audience and uses their discomfort, and the way he deconstructs comedy.

Hes quality, just reminded me of this

Stewart Lee and Top Gear

6:35 onwards cracks me up... "hes a horrible little shit, weasle, piece of shit, nothing"

...and there are people who just have to walk on stage and you laugh, the late great Tommy Cooper -I remember seeing him being pulled under the curtain on a live tv gig when he died.
On a more contempory note (but still old) But Hicks and Carlin do it for me very Intellectually mature and just great thinkers at the same time very funny

=D I think this has to be his finest moment:

Stewart Lee - William Wallace

"William Wallace, your national hero, was a paedophile. A Scottish paedophile. The worst kind of paedophile there is. Coming at you through a bothy, with shortbread in its beard, muttering unintelligible sexual threats in a, frankly, incomprehensible dialect".

^ Haha, I love Stewart Lee. I totally understand why people would hate him though, and don't really try to convince anyone otherwise if they say they don't like him.

People walk out all the time - there's only been 2/3 of the audience max left by the end of any gig of his I've seen. I've even felt like walking out on occasion.

I think his offensiveness is rare in it can truly be justified by context. He sets himself out to be a bitter lowlife lashing out desperately at everyone and everything, so you laugh at him and his patheticness. He's not ironic in a Jimmy Carr sense - speaking from a sleek position of authority, saying some nasty, bullying things and then just pulling a face.

I wasn't stoating into a Sadowitz gig unaware what to expect. I've heard, and enjoyed, a lot of his stuff - Since back in the day (The People vs Jerry Sadowitz etc). I wasn't shocked at all by his comedy. I didn't walk out in disgust at the shocking things he was saying. It just wasn't funny in the slightest. It would literally only have raised a smile if you think shouting PAKI PAKI PAKI is funny - I don't.

It was like he'd went beyond parody. Imagine a man on stage giving it "DARKIES, EH? HAHAHAHAHAH!" for 20 minutes (that's how long we lasted). Not funny at all, just utter shite. I was really disappointed, had been looking forward to seeing him for ages.

spudgun if you wanna laugh at some pathetic-ness, look up some clips of Joey Essex

Infact... Skip to 1:15 on this

Fair do's. Last time I saw him was just after the Saville thing had come out, so he was in his element, but I wouldn't put a shit set past him.

To be fair, some of my mates who walked out at the same time had seen him not too long before, and have seen him since, and said he was great both times. Just had a shocker of a night the time I was there. Not like I got a reduction in the 40 odd quid I payed to see him have a snider though :\

£40?? Was that for one ticket?

Jerry Sadowitz. The only gig (music, comedy, whatever) that I can remember walking out of. I was really looking forward to seeing him, he was fucking dreadful.

Sadowitz' act that day - "Dead babies? Haha. Pakis? Haha. Nig nogs? Haha. Dead paki nig nog babies? Haha" Fuck off mate, you're supposed to be funny.
jerry sadowitz could be really funny but sometimes the raw insult humour just bogged him down, especially if the audience did not respond well and he just kept going deeper...

he was an amazing magician.

Many people hate him but i think stewart lee is a god of comedy.

Then there's chris morris, noel fielding, julian barret, (not so much stand ups though), and ross noble, lee mack, tim vine, milton jones (loads really)

Yes, yes! Stewart Lee and Chris Morris are too good.
