How much is it? £1.20 a can round here, which I think represents good value, considering it's nearly twice as strong as the other mass produced £1 tins aimed at those of fixed abode. Tastes alright as well IMO, better than Strongbow anyways.
 
£5.99 for a four pack so ~£1.50 per can. It is decent value compared with general cidery things but with any kinda alcohol tolerance it's a lot cheaper to just buy spirit of some kind instead. Plus three bottles of Henry Weston's at the same percentage (only tastier) is a fiver so it doesn't seem quite so much of a cheapo option in comparison. Would rather buy Weston's if going for overstrength cider.
 
Definitely with you on the Westons - will always go for the 3 for £5 if I see it, but the offies round here aren't exactly epicurean in their booze selection.
 
Seems to be on permaoffer at the Co-Op here. They try to obfuscate it by putting the offer labels nearer to the other Weston's brands and none next to the high ABV one - it's pretty obvious folk are seeing ABV and nothing else but it's always a blanket offer on Weston's cider even when it's not obvious at first glance. Actually can't remember the last time it wasn't on offer.

Curry <3 I eat curry so much (Indian is my fave - Thai second). I have to admit my curry tonight was really basic (mods you can see the fucking horrible picture) - sweet potato and pea. Couldn't be arsed to make breads or rice (I hate cooking rice).

See my local supermarket is Lidl, so you can get some really decent wines for around a tenner, but I also end up drinking all kinds of weird shit just because it's cheap. White wine spritzers are 50p a can at the moment.... Ned Flanders ringing in my ears every time I go to the checkout with a couple of those bad boys.
 
^ I <3 Aldi/Lidl booze section. Their Bourbon is the tits. Well it is if you like Jim Beam. They call it Golden Turkey or some such thing but is but Jim Beam with a different label at well under half the price. Always treat myself to a bottle or two if I'm in town.

I did walk past the fishmonger on the market this week but was closing time and I was skint. Also rather object to paying a "fresh fish" premium for frozen-then-thawed-and-sold-as-fresh fish. I may as well stick with supermarket stuff if doing that cos it's a lot cheaper.. although more limited in terms of variety admittedly. They're actually not too bad on variety but only have tiny amounts of the less obvious ones so it's a case of grab it if you see it.

Just found a barbecue marinade sauce dated use before 2009. 8o What's the most out of date food anyones ever eaten?

I'm sure Ive heard tales of people eating tins of spam and stuff like that which were 40 years old and were absolutely fine. I think I'll give the jar the nose test, if it passes that then it'll be good to go.
 
I never look at dates, eyes and nose will tell you if something is ok (save certain bacteria that would constitute a violation of hygeine rules if it was in the product).
 
You are so right owen, I thought I was the only person like this :P Most dates are so over cautious, they just seem to be there for people who lack common sense. It's amazing how many people actually throw things away if they see they're a few days out of date without even bothering to have a look at them properly first.

On topic, I'm eating chewing gum. I did eat earlier though, not a total messhead yet, I think I'm under 8 stone now just about and I don't want to look anorexic.

You'll see. And anyway, even if I'm not always spot on what matter is that I always believe I am - which is why I'll make a great lawyer haha.

Back on topic, what have I actually eaten today. Waitrose brioche loaf thing (no not a whole one), yoghurt and a pasta salad thing from M&S. A marked improvement on yesterdays bowl of cereal and pair of doritos.
 
Law student are you? Sounds like you fit the bill. Never try arguing with a law student whilst they are drunk... We used to have some pretty fun debates in the wee hours after nights out - we were pretty much taught to pick a line of argument & just stick with it no matter what as long as we could back it up.

Quite often I'll pick the opposite point of view just for the sake of it, even if I don't necessarily agree with it. I wouldn't tell anyone that until they started to get pissed off. :D

Waitrose? You really must live in the posh part of England. ;)

I had a BQQ at my Sister's. Lamb & Mint Burger, Apple & Leek Sausages and Chicken smothered in Jack Daniels BBQ sauce. Followed by Coffee & Walnut cake.
 
Not a law student, English Lit, going to go into law though. Only decided this year tbh but apparently it's better (or at least as good) to do a non related degree as your first so that you show some versatility. And fortunately despite being a complete slacker and not revising for a levels I still got AAAa so I should be able to work for a top city firm as long as I get a 1st in my degree (so not too much to ask :P).

And sounds like I fit the bill? As in I'm arrogant as fuck? You could be right there aha. Definitely right about not arguing with me when I'm drunk at least, I'm a terror (not really, I tend to be a cute/sleepy drunk - when I'm on coke however...).

I'm from Surrey so yeah I'm a bit of a posh posh, not particularly rich myself but I've got that RP accent haha. The Waitrose is up in brum however, I'm more of a Sainsburys person back at home out of pure laziness because we have a huge one only 5 minutes drive away :P

BBQ sounds good, I keep meaning to buy that JD BBQ sauce. I do love a bit of JD :D

Food though er... I have left over chicken curry so that will be dinner tomorrow I s'pose!
