Why rob grannies just to stop yourself shitting your pants when there are far more enjoyable drugs you can become addicted to the point of granny-abuse on that are at least fun along the way? Assuming one wishes to go the granny-thieving route... which is not so much a choice as a necessity when pants-shitting take precedent. I suspect you'll be hard pushed to find anybody who has ever taken heroin more than at the most superficial stage who would advise otherwise. Steer well clear. Not worth it. Not even close.

You mention liking coke, would you consider taking up a crack addiction? It's a bit pricier but a lot more fun and leads to far fewer problems in many ways. Far more in other ways mind.

And a fine plan it is, I'd go with the plan. Unplanned attempts at heroin use rarely go well. Planned ones go at least as badly. Planned ones that lack alternative options are fine due to lack of alternative options.

EDIT: I mean that you really can't tell if somebody is on smack unless they're actually nodding. Booze stinks, makes you sloppy and stagger about. Same with benzos only without the whiff. Stims you can spot a mile off. No other drug is as stealth as opies.

Not the same as drinkers - not the same as stim users - may I ask you, based on your experience how you would spot a stim user a mile off where a opiate user would walk past you ? Surely if you were in a crowd you can do a quick spin and see whos high / then a bit more observation would let you know substance?

Folk on stims are stimmed. Pupils like saucers, sweaty, rushrushrush. Folk on opies may have pinned pupils it's true, but that's easily achieved by sunlight or even general indoor lighting. To be fair, "the average person" doesn't tend to make the connections. I've worked on anything and everything you can imagine and speed and booze (and benzos) are the only ones that really raised obvious flags to the point of outright suspicion and accusation (hotly denied - whilst utterly annihilated - naturally 8)). Smack never once raised an eyebrow unless I was actually nodding. Coke raises suspicions but isn't very practical to make a day in, day out thing unless you're minted enough to not need to give a shit what people think.

I know exactly what you mean by the "plastic mask" - it's much the same as the face of anybody doing menial, meaningless work just to pay the bills. It's the face of disillusion and discontent - hardly unusual in the donkey work arena. At a job that mattered folk would notice, you wouldn't need to be on smack for such work though.

I often wonder how it is that I've never been refused entry to a club when I've been on something, I always look back at photos and I look like 110% more fucked than the person next to me. I guess security just don't care? Tell the truth though, I'm pretty bad at spotting when people are high but that's to be expected really because I don't hang around with many people who take drugs.

Shambles - I would consider trying crack (and am actually interested in it) but I wasn't planning to be addicted to anything tbh! I guess no one does but you know, I'm only young and experimenting - won't get much chance for drug use with the career I'm hoping to go into (law) so might as well have my fun while I can. I'm a hell of a lot of sensible than most people my age as well so as potential addicts come I'm not a particularly likely one.

Same here, can spot them... back in the pre ban meph days everybody was wide eyed dialated... rarely been refused entry but been searched alot due to the size of my eyes haha

Harder to judge when your on it yourself... ive been fairly sober and seen people stimmed before and it was strange to see... people stimmed up in the face of other people chatting full chat, invading personal space and whatnot, was a kinda slap in the face like... oh shit im like that when im on it... fuckin ell. saying that, seeing drunk people when sober is kinda odd as well, theyre like zombies or something... never spent enough time sober out and about on weekends to observe people mashed tbh

And when would any of that apply working the kinda crappy jobs anybody would feel the need to be utterly anaesthetised to get through the day? It looks odd on the factory line. Looks odd even working behind a bar where fukkedness is to be expected (I ended up with ridiculous restrictions on working cos I was permafukked behind the bar but short of drug-testing me boss could only know without being able to prove). I am but extrapolating from own experience but the difference between working on stims and working on GABAergics and working on opies is so stupidly huge it doesn't really seem a controversial point to me. Have you experience of all three? Under what circumstances? What type of work? The latter would be key I suspect.

I'm a student, I don't get a paycheque aside from student loan I just have a lot of savings. I imagine I could keep myself going for a while on that though if I ever felt so inclined. I wouldn't know where to begin making my own, surely that would be equally as expensive based on what I pay for good coke.

Wish I'd be older in the pre ban meph days, as I was only like... 14 I never got to see the craziness of everyone being on meph. Must've been fun. Even when I'm sober I have a hard time spotting who's high and who's just drunk, I'm pretty naïve still I guess. My housemates always notice when I'm on something though, the eyes are the biggest giveaway. When I'm high I always keep asking if I look really fucked as well for some reason lol, got to love the shit you talk on stims. Being around drunk people when I'm sober happens quite often, I just find them annoying as hell But most people annoy me anyway so not much change tbh 8)

Don't buy premade rocks - they're made with bicarb and cost a fortune. Tenner a hit - hit lasts ~10mins. Then you want MORE.

Oh yea I agree about not recognising someone is on opiates, nn one could tell I was taking 900 mg codeine daily. And I admitted everything n my parents took a bag of codeine pills with me to show the doc... he still tried to ONLY give me 60 mg pure codeine a day.... after I'd been taking 900 mg per day... Stupid or WHAT????

Could you fund an actual opi habit? An illicit opi habit? I kinda doubt it to be honest. People maintain on methadone and/or bupe cos it is not possible nor even remotely feasible to fund life addicted to other opies (codeine aside maybe). Do you have £100/day or so to spend? If not stick with scripted opies cos the rest cost a fortune. In more ways than one.
