On the topic of booze... i think the cut down over the weekend has left me with some minor booze craves... could quite happily get drunk now

Feel the need to share this website with you if you are stuck with the unfornuate matter of having to buy wine from a supermarket, this website will change your life ( a little hyperbole there maybe). Simply select the supermarket you are visiting and their will be a list of wines that are actually worth the price they're being sold for in the supermarket.

Just choose something at random in your price bracket or select something of a grape variety you like and either way it will be worth the money you pay for it, with links to contemporary reviews from the national media attatched to each wine. I don't even bother looking at the review, I just choose either the grape variety or amount of money I want to spend and pick something, hasn't failed me yet.

Actually not. Booze is one of the drugs that doesn't count as a drug. May even come in handy that. We used to have (probably still do have) a wine appreciation (or wine drinking mostly) thread. Perhaps unsurprisingly, it's mostly a case of comparing price with ABV and seeing which works out best and hoping for the best. I did discover somewhere along the way that I do rather like a slightly better quality wine even if it is a bit weaker but wouldn't have a clue what such a thing would be other than I presume it will cost more. Not always the case though (mostly the case - definitely not always). Maybe I could learn a thing. Possibly two but likely to forget the second through drunkenness.
 
Seriously, if you like wine but don't know much about it (like me), that website will be an epiphany. Never again will you buy a bottle of wine in the supermarket and feel it wasn't worth the money.
 
I do sort of occasionally like wine. Like, not enough to know what to buy though so some sort of wine select-y ting sounds good.

Drinking wee bottles of Stripe atm.
