[Photography/Pics Thread] Dump your random Phone/Camera/Randomly taken pics 'ere <3

Saw this schoolgirl looking lost today, tried to help her find her parents but clearly she had been told not to talk to strangers.

When being active and true relaxation connect and really become but one...

Along the canal I walk,
Along the canal and connect with my internal one and talk,
Along the canal, I truly feel,
Along the canal, old wounds heal

Along the canal, I feel my own energy,
Along the canal, the beautiful I truly feel and see,
Along the canal, time really does not matter,
Along the canal, miseries fade away and scatter,

Along the canal, there is nothing I cannot do,
Along the canal, I feel oh but true,
Along the canal, all feel but just right,
Along the canal, oh how calming and what an amazing right,

they are great pics. I have a close up/magnifier feature on my camera, presumably for taking pics like that but ive never yet learnt to use it properly. I was out on my bike in a 'left to go wild' part of manchester a while ago, and i had to duck to avoid splattering some enormous dragon fly. Id probably never have been quick enough to get a pic of it, esp on my bike, but if i was on foot i might have had the time.

anyway, so thats what hover flies look like, at first glance i thought your pics were of wasps, but wasps definately have a longer and thinner shape. :o

The wings are bigger/stick out too & their eyes are more buggy too. :D

Yeah I use the macro setting & counterintuitively, I use a telephoto lens at maximum focal length, which in those is like 300mm for the top one & 200mm for the bottom (old lens/camera).

I suppose one day I might invest in a macro lens but a wide-angle lens is next on my to purchase list. God knows when that'll be, they are very expensive.

You are better using the sport setting for anything that is actually flying/hovering, regardless of whether it is small or not btw.

I'll have to have a play around with that macro setting.

more Oz pics, at least their bird life is a bit more interesting than pigeons. Even their crows make a different calling sound.

Id like to see Bear Grylls attempt to climb that tree :p (with no climbing equipment)

MDB, I never mind anything you say, truly.

Rhossili on the Gower. It's where I spent Sunday. Worms Head is to the left, out of picture, but couldn't find a decent pic of that. I've probably got one but am not on PC.

PS Deserted coz it's fucking huge. People look like ants on that beach at the best of times.

Cheers, thats another added to the 'places to visit' list. I cant really understand why people flock in their thousands and pack out certain popular beaches so that you cant see anything except for other people, when there are beatiful deserted beaches like that to go to instead.

Bear Grylls would just use his teeth, or sharpen his nails into points... he'd think of something.

Wales has some amazing beaches.

I did of course mean in the context of Scotland, lots of nice beaches elsewhere :)

That really looks like a lovely beach. I didn't know you worked for the National Trust? ;)

Looks like a nice walk Chattative. Here's a few i took in mid summer in The Pyrenees a few years ago.

That's Vignemale in the last pic, the highest peak in the French Pyreness, i wanted to climb it, but its not advisable without a guide unless you are pretty experienced at that sort of stuff. I was exhausted enough just reaching that plateau anyway which took 3 hours at a brisk rate. Probably would have taken another 3 hours to reach the summit, making a 12 hour round trip in total, though it doesnt look like much in the pic. There's a reason that there's cabins dotted around The Pyrenees for people that arent mad enough or fit enough to do the whole thing in one go.

There are bears and wolves that have been reintroduced up there now, not sure if they were there on my last vist or not, would imagine that it would be incredibly rare to see anything like that anyway.
