How good is that feeling of waking up knowing there's a nice sum of money in your bank account just waiting for you to withdraw?!

Yes, today is that day and although it may only be a pesky £113 in the bank its nice knowing it's there!

Already been out and my usual guy is back on after a week which is great....just got three brandy and a whisky. Smoking the dub now and its not bad! Will have a b after it to level me out. Hope it's good stuff.

What about you? Are you straight up and out when its payday or are you more conservative?

I tend to look at my bank balance, get excited, subtract living / travel expenses, work out how much is left over as disposable income and become far less excited.

Divide my money up into various accounts. An account for bills/rent, accessible savings, inaccesible savings, an ISA. Whatever is left in my current account after that usually gets rinsed within about a week then i live like a pauper for the rest of the month.

Eating actualy food is a nice treat. Being able to afford something you see in the shops, like a beer or two is just great.

WHen I get paid, I get a few beers and eat like a king that night. Then it's back to normal. If I don't go on a bender, that is...

I get payed daily so my payday ritual is my daily drug ritual.
Get money. One and one. Fags. Mango rubicon. And boooooyahhhh I'm a happy man.

This is what I most appreciate. I do spend quite a lot of time really rather skinted so is nice to have a day or two where I can more or less do whatever I fancy. I tend to get summat nice for dins and perhaps a better quality of booze than I would opt for at other stages of the fortnight. Often there's not huge difference though cos I have a selection of things that need paying that wipe out most of my income every few giro days. The inbetweeny ones are nice though. I'll usually treat myself to an order of summat pleasing (or indeed not so pleasing as it turns out sometimes 8)) or get summat similar from a local source (or at least I did when ketamine was available locally). Not done that for a while as had a series of expensive things that needed paying for (which will no doubt make up for weeks of being virtually (proper) drug free with faaaaaaaaaaar too much booze as replacement). My liver is gonna thank me for getting back to the proper drugs I suspect.

I love that couple of days before all my payments come out where all is good with the world.

in one hand and out the other for me, and thats how it has been for a while now
looking forward to finally getting back on track this month and not touching my overdraft / still managing to clear off all my bills and stuff
yeehaw... only 4 weeks of discipline to go eeek

My flatmate just got paid today so I'm being treated to KFC for dinner.

i have the opiate payday ritual anyone
that knows this knows how much it sucks.
Yes I remember that one myself, Friday was payday which always ensured a smacked up weekend.

Buy some clothes, buy some bud, give my savings to my mum so I don't spend it :\ then live like a pauper for the next month. Payday tomorrow :D

As none of you seem to have any money I'm going to shower you all in diamonds I'm going to use this thread as a little warning to any Barclays customers amongst you.

Forgive me my sins, I've been with them forever. I think they gave me a free railcard when I was at uni or something. Anyway, I've always been a fan of my approved overdraft which has allowed me to have an extra few hundred quid every now and again with no real penalty. Honestly, the fees amounted to about 50p a month for the luxury of having a hassle free few hundred quid off them.

All changes in mid June. My 50p a month fees are going up to 75p a day for every day I'm in overdraft.

Put another way, my 50p a month fees are going up to £20 a month. I think that's roughly a 4000% increase. Slightly above the rate of inflation then.

Seriously. This isn't just me. This is any Barclays customer. So if you have an account there you use for overdraft I suggest closing it now, moving to Nationwide, and brick every fucking Barclays bank you walk past in darkness.

FUCK BARCLAYS.

I've been with barclays for most of my working life.... time to pay the overdraft off and jump ship.

Ive been taken in by that Santander advert for their current account, im sure its not half as good as they make it sound. Im terrible with figures and percentages and what not so i don't quite understand it but its made me want it...!

Edit: yeah FUCK BARCLAYS

FUCK BARCLAYS.

I went overdrawn ages ago on my old student account by about a tenner and completely forgot about it, a few weeks ago I found out they had been adding charges on every month for a few months without telling me as the terms of the account had changed. Managed to get most of the charges written off and closed the account.

FUCK BARCLAYS.

I'm with Nationwide and Lloyds now, considering switching my Lloyds account to firstdirect as they are a bunch of cunts as well. Sent me a letter the other day saying they were removing paying interest on my current account and the £10 overdraft buffer.

Barclays wouldn't even give me an account to go overdrawn in (or even to stay in credit in) so got no idea how good or bad they are compared to other banks but fuck 'em anyway for deciding I'm an undesirable not worthy of an account with 'em.

I've actually never gone overdrawn in my life. No fukker would give me an account because I don't have enough of a credit history for them to know whether I'm worth giving an account or not. They must all be getting desperate cos after decades of struggling to find any bank that will go near me suddenly they all want to shower me in credit cards cos I'm possibly the only person in the land who hasn't lost them fortunes on bad credit agreements they missold in the 90s. Finally having no credit rating has made me seem a reasonable punt it seems. Not that I've taken anybody up on their - presumably charitably intended - offers of shitloads of credit. I know damn well I'd never be able to pay it back but it's nice to at least be offered for a change.

Wait - are you sure this applies to all account types? I've got a Graduate account which has had a 2k overdraft since I graduated. I have to pay £7 for the service (which involves various forms of insurance, so worth it) a month, plus a couple of £ interest. I'm sure I would have been warned?

I had a situ where they'd let you go over your limit by £250 and charged you some stupidly high fee for the privilege, but I managed to stop that.
