Changes to overdraft charges and Personal Reserve. From 16, June we’ll no longer be charging interest on our overdrafts. Instead, there will be a simple daily fee – with interest-free overdrafts becoming fee-free overdrafts. We’ll also be removing Personal Reserve and introducing Emergency Borrowing, and making a number of changes to other fees and how they’re incurred.

Graduate accs usually phase you in to paying interest over a year or 2, I'd imagine you'll get a letter if they are
 
That doesn't sound too good, I'll have to investigate, ta for the heads up. A bit stupid of them if it does hike things up as much as you say, as I'm sure it'll drive loads of good customers away. I always wanted to move to the co-op when I could get out of my overdraft, but now even that's been shat on by recent events.:(

Yeah, I've been paying a little interest for years, but this daily fee thing seems like it's a way of hiking up the monthly payments even more.
 
got a secret a/c with barclays - inheritence goes in there so wifey doesnt see it. when i was younger we use to celebrate 'dole eve' the day before geting benefits
 
Dole Eve was a crap celebration - skintest day of the week and know full well it's mostly gonna be much the same situation in about 48h time. I always found it all the more frustrating cos I'd've used up all my tick possibilities by then or would have them which means bugger all left to spend the next day. Also frustrated me that I knew how close I was to being able to score but not close enough. Traipsing back and forth to the cash point hoping it would go through at some point overnight so I could get a lil something to take the ouchies away - never actually did go in overnight but being so close it was hard not to keep trying cos maybe this time...

I don't really think that much about giroday now. It's just another day. Nice cos I can treat myself to a bottle of summat tasty rather than cheap but it's not really a big deal. I even have a few quid left at the end of the fortnight sometimes now. Not often and probably not much but usually whatever is leftover under a tenner cos that's the minimum I can draw out. Think I prefer dull giro days than depressing ones on the whole.
 
Pay days all gravy to me now im sucking the state dry again- slightly new routine now but its just as pathetic as the last. - 7.00am check the bank make sure all is kosher. Shower and leave the house at 9.00 which is when mans phone normally comes on. By the time ive driven to wolves and sorted some items out were looking 9.30 - a couple of pipes and a boot later and its 10.00am which means the weed peoples are usually awake by now. Spliff rolled for the drive home - then its dive home baked with a nice cd on - and then a couple more pipes ' o ' white while I sit with my dad untill the chemist opens. Chemist and meth around 12 - 1pm then half an hour for the meth to kick in before tucking into the bags of gear properly. Will go from nod to sleep between 2 and 4 o clock, waking up for dinner at around 7 after which its more spliff and another bag or 2 if i have some left. What a life.
 
The standard student payday ritual. The money's all been spunked the previous term and it just goes into paying off the overdraft (which of course, has no fees)
 
The mrs and I both get paid monthly on the same day, which is annoying but just how it is. The morning of the 16th is usually cup of tea, and internet transfer of visa, Amex, rent,child support, tax and super. Everything else is direct debited during the month so I don't notice it coming or going.

August is yearly bonus time, which is equally exciting and dangerous. There is a reason they set up emergency triage spots at canary wharf during bonus month, and certain suits have their mobiles fully charged.
