Schapelle Corby will celebrate freedom 'with a joint', says former lawyer Kerry Smith

LIES, EXPLOITATION AND THE AUSTRALIAN MEDIA'S PURSUIT OF SCHAPELLE CORBY

MathabaSLC1a.jpg

Schapelle Corby was released from an Indonesian prison on 10th February 2014. She had suffered almost a decade in overbearing and squalid conditions, for a crime she did not commit.

Whilst there are many innocent people in prisons across the world, Schapelle Corby’s imprisonment was not only unjust, it was both corrupt and political.

Her own government, the Australian government, had known since July 2005 that she was entirely innocent. It had known that the marijuana, which had been found in her bag on arrival in Bali, had been placed by corrupt staff across Australian airports.

It had known that airport security was shambolic, and that the Australian Federal Police (AFP) were involved in the syndication of drugs.

Rather than manage the implications of this situation, ministers chose to sacrifice an innocent life.

They wilfully suppressed the life critical evidence, they blocked essential revenue for Schapelle Corby’s legal appeals, and they led the Australian media into a campaign of abuse, fabrication, and vitriol.

The information, which conclusively proved this, emerged courtesy of an international research team called The Expendable Project.

Published on the project website are hundreds of cables, items of correspondence, transcripts, and briefing notes, from the heart of the Australian administration.

These openly demonstrate a catalogue of corrupt and criminal activity, perpetrated in support of the above.

None of this has been reported by the Australian media.

THE GAGGING OF SCHAPELLE CORBY

On release from prison on parole, Schapelle Corby presented a significant threat. The public’s thirst for coverage of her story was insatiable. Her words would be heard by almost the entire population.

It was also apparent that, despite unimaginable suffering, her spirit had not been broken. Courageously, she had never made the false confession which had been demanded, and she was well aware of many of the abuses which had been perpetrated from Canberra.

Australian politicians, and the Australian media, instantly began a campaign to silence her, using a series of direct lies and misrepresentation.

This included the manufactured fabrication, stemming from a report by Fairfax Media, that she was to be paid £3 million for her first interview.

All Schapelle Corby herself wanted to do was to speak: to tell the truth to the people of Australia.

To intimidate the media and her family, thirty-four armed AFP officers raided a television network. The office of Mercedes Corby’s lawyer was raided by a dozen armed officers, also carrying pepper spray.

These threatening and belligerent gangs illegally seized equipment, data, and confidential information. They openly breached lawyer/client confidentiality. A number of government ministers cheered from the sidelines.

As the pressure built, Indonesia acted. Schapelle Corby was told that if she spoke, she would be sent back to prison. Her sister, Mercedes, was also gagged, under the same threat.

The Australian establishment had secured what it needed. Its secrets were safe. The information published by The Expendable Project remained unreported, and censored.

PAID-FOR LIES AND FLAGRANT EXPLOITATION

Realizing that this had been a close-call, further action was required. From the state’s perspective, Schapelle Corby herself had to be increasingly undermined. The value and credibility of her words had to be reduced.

The route to achieve this was exploitative in the extreme.

Direct lies were to be put into the mouth of Schapelle Corby whilst she was gagged, and could not respond. Network Ten, headed by Lachlan Murdoch, paid a reported $30,000 for an interview with a heroin smuggler called Renae Lawrence.

Lawrence was a member of the Bali 9, who had been caught smuggling a large quantity of heroin in 2005. When intercepted, she had 2.69 kg strapped to her legs and chest, concealed underneath her clothing.

She was reported as being "not shy of standing over and intimidating prisoners, especially the new arrivals, and demanding money” and a “bully, who would turn on anyone she didn’t like".

In 2013 she was re-located to a remote prison, after being accused of plotting to murder two prison guards.

During her time in Kerobokan Prison, she never shared a cell with Schapelle Corby, although Channel Ten described her as a "cellmate", for extra effect.

The script was predictable. Amongst other false allegations, she stated that Schapelle Corby had secretly confessed to her, and that she had faked her mental illness in prison. She provided good value for Channel Ten’s investment.

Whatever Lawrence’s character and malignant intent, she too had been exploited, as part of a much bigger game.

PUBLIC PRESENTATION

The general media reported her paid-for fabrications as credible, regardless of the lack of any supporting evidence whatsoever, and her obvious situation.

Schapelle Corby’s forced silence was not referred to, as headline coverage presented this crass and abusive operation as a “bombshell”.

The state propaganda machine was in full flow. The corruption of the Australian establishment was being forced into the background, as Schapelle Corby herself was again denigrated and maligned across the media spectrum.

All parties involved in this Soviet style manipulation of public opinion were fully aware of The Expendable Project information cache.

They knew what it revealed, and they knew its implications. They willingly participated in an exercise of unmitigated propaganda, transparent to the intelligent mind, but consumed by too many Australians as the truth.

Australia had, once again, demonstrated the depths to which a government will sink, to protect its own, at the expense of an innocent citizen.

Schapelle Corby remains gagged: silenced and unable to expose her own innocence, and the guilt of those with power, who stole so much of her life for political and self-interest.

Shun Hatton:

I know she didn't do it. I visited her at Polda police station on the 10th of October 2004. I assured her then that Rosleigh had spoken to security at Brisbane airport, they had confirmed that ..."The cctv footage was secure and intact and would be available on Monday for collection" All she had to do was hold on for one more night, the footage would show a slimline boogie board bag and she would be in the clear.

The AFP were contacted to collect the footage, suddenly it disappeared. Three different excuses were given, until they finally settled on the last one which was a doozie...." The security cameras at Brisbane domestic airport are only turned on if there is a person of interest at the airport."
The Corby's were like any Australian family, they trusted in the AFP to help them. That is not the case for any Australian overseas that finds themselves in trouble. The AFP's sole motivation is to aide the police force (in whatever country you may be in) to gain a conviction.

AFP Commissioner Mick Keelty's statement when asked why there had been no investigation in Australia into where the drugs originated or where a part time fish and chip shop employee could of got her hands on $40,000 worth of marijuana.... "We (The AFP) are not in the business of clearing people" Makes perfect sense when you realize that the AFP are working towards a conviction.

If you turn around Keelty's statement... he is actually stating that if the AFP do an investigation Schapelle will be proved innocent. That cannot happen. If the AFP prove she is innocent Sydney airport is not secure. What country post 9/11 wants aircraft flying into their cities airspace that is not secure? Qantas have an innocent passenger getting on at one end and a drug smuggler under the threat of death by firing squad at the other end. Very bad for business. The AFP would be seen to have lost control of Sydney International airport, Keelty is too sure of his own self importance to allow that to happen. All they need to do is make sure that Corby takes the fall and all their problems go away.....

It worked until 2011 when investigators through the freedom of information act uncovered emails between the justice minister Senator Christopher Ellison, Keelty, DOTORS Secretary Michael Smith and the CEO of Sydney Airport Corporation Limited Max Moore-Wilton all referring to one item of luggage, baggage number 0881884193 that was not screened and did not receive a SACL (Sydney Airport Corporation Limited) clearance code. That bag was Schapelle's boogie board bag! Not just not screened, but actually lost from their security system. This vital evidence was withheld from her and her defense.

Alan Jones has scrutinized the evidence and has stated the evidence is incontrovertible and yet the Australian media refuse to report it.
If you have not looked at the Expendable web site, I would urge you to have a look and make an educated decision and not rely on hearsay and innuendo as the media in Australia have a vested interest in keeping the truth from the public.

To finish you may wonder why this evidence has not been used to clear her? All Schapelle's appeals have been used up, even an extraordinary appeal. If we had footage of a baggage handler putting the marijuana in her bag, it would not be admissible to an Indonesian appeals court.

This is why the AFP are hell bent on not letting her or family speak. Lawrence can be interviewed from gaol, a Bali bomber can be interviewed, a criminal in Australia can write books about his crimes but if Schapelle tries to speak about her innocence she is threatened with more gaol time. The AFP raids have nothing to do with proceeds of crime but everything to do with keeping her silenced!

People just love conspiracy theories. 8)

Seriously, the Expendible's shit is classic CT, reads like a 9/11 "truth" site.

I don't care enough about the bogan to convince anyone else but I find it sad people allow themselves to be misled by such wild-eyed nonsense.

i fail to see anything hot about this schapelle girl.

Me neither. And not just pure aesthetics either, the whole family are an ugly lot. Daddy was drug dealer, her older brother has been jailed for doing violent run-throughs on drug dealers homes, the sister is a loud mouthed wretch who has shamelessly profiteered from Schappelle's situation. I can't believe people are hoodwinked by their crap.

I think something shady happened at the airport. Not saying she is innocent by any means but maybe an airport employee was paid off. Now they are trying to cover it up?

^^ I think the original story is about right: there was supposed to be money in the bag for corrupt customs officials at the Indonesian end and, for whatever reason, the money wasn't there. Schapelle took the heat for the family, as a good crook does. End of story.

But, like any good CT, the most obvious answer in never enough and instead there has to be "Soviet style manipulation of public opinion" to try and justify some preconceived bias.

The anti-ABC rhetoric in that "expendable" "documentary" is on the nose.
The ABC is one of the few news sources (especially 4 Corners, Lateline and Media Watch - which I always used to watch when I had a tv) of any repute in Australia.
The guy who financed (and probably wrote? I cannot find the source of the information - or even the name of the guy - that I saw when I watched the damn thing). Regardless; he was a big-shot at Bondcorp in the 80s; one of this countries most corrupt corporate episodes. Those people were crooks, and I call into question any agenda they now have.
I don't know about the "truth" of anyone's stories in regards to this case, but more there are a lot of cheap political shots, tabloid-style tactics of persuasion and general editorial shoddiness.

It's like a third rate ocker "loose change" IMO.

Having said that, the AFP are corrupt, heartless motherfuckers.

^^ Yup. Character assasination of people one disagrees with is the hallmark of CT woo-mongering. Michael Bachelard is one of the best journalists operating in SE Asia but becuase he dares to question the wingnuts at The Expendibles they attack ruthelessly.

And, yes, the AFP are a bunch of corrupt, soulless cunts of the highest order - but that has little bearing on this case, as I'm sure you well know..

I'd be interested in learning more about the chap you mention here. I don't know a lot about the issue TBH, I just have serious problems with the tone and methods being employed, it's just red-flag CT stuff. I believe strongly in critical thinking and these pricks are breaking all the rules as far as I see it.

^^ That's me - I have a personality disprder and signed up a new account recently. Not sure why, I'm just kind of fucked in the head really

And I haven't even done (real) drugs for like six years, but I'm still fucing cooked. *sigh*

Everyone is entitled to their opinions, or guess work. Except for Bit, as he was there, inside her BB bag, so he knows :D.

I'd like to keep an open mind, the case was full of holes and her never admitting guilt even tho she would have been given more reductions on her sentence is a big one for me, and that the CCTV footage from 2 major Aussie airports went 'missing'.

As for who the expendibles are, I dont really care, but some of the stuff they have on their vid and website is very interesting and unanswered imo, labelling it as one big CT is like saying the same thing for some of the wiki leaks docs.

As for how people look, I dont think that has much to do with it, the reason SC's case is so popular is because so many people still doubt alot of what went on, ie the AFP (who also were fuck wits in regards to the Bali 9 case and were apparently supposed to nab them back here on Aussie soil, or so Scott Rush's dad said) the politicians, the indo cops and so on. So many untrustworthy parties involved in the whole thing. I wouldn't be surprised one bit if many of the Indos in court or cops had doubts to her guilt but wonted to make an example of her to others who may be thinking of bring drugs into their country.

Although their country is full of drugs anyway, several mates returned a couple of weeks ago from Bali and said they were offered Hydro, Hash, and other drugs every day just about, sometimes many times a day. Same when I went there a few times ages ago, I was offered drugs many times in broad daylight just walking along the street. I think it's easier to score there than it is here.

I hope one day eventually SC can be sat down in another country and repeatably lie detector tested, that would be interesting to know the results. As alot of the case just seems so media orientated and opinionated it's hard to know what really happened. I dont think it sounded like her family was much of a crime gang family, her old man was done with a really small amount of weed ages ago and her half bro was done for some pathetic shit the mum and 2 girls didnt have records afaik. If enough media nobs dug deep enough into my family and believed anything anyone told them my family is probably a massive underworld family too moving Keys of whatever. lol, the shit people make up for stories in the media.

Loads of people worldwide have been convicted for crimes they didn't do, and have spent time in jail, many alot longer than SC. I wouldn't doubt it is possible she is innocent or guilty either. That's why the case is so interesting to alot of people all over the world (especially in Aus)

I just have a finely tuned bullshit detector, that is all. I really couldnr't care less about the Corby's, I just think those wingnuts fromt The Expendibles are wingnuts and it shows in the way they write and the way they attack good people

Schapelle Corby is innocent – part 11 – Rife corruption, time to indict those who sweep it under the carpet

The Stringer

Saturday 12th of April 2014 (UTC)

Six people, including four employees at the San Diego International Airport, appeared in US Federal Court on the morning of March 18. They were accused of smuggling illicit drugs through airport security at Lindbergh Field. Four baggage handlers from the international airport were charged with smuggling cocaine and methamphetamine. They were able to pass the drugs through security screenings. They were arrested in a federal agent sweep after years of trafficking drugs through the airport.

In another unrelated incident, on April 4, three former airport employees of King Airport, in St Thomas, were sentenced after pleading guilty to charges of drug trafficking out of the island airport. According to the federal indictment, the airport employees used their positions at the airport to transport cocaine. One of them was a baggage handler. He marked checked luggage containing narcotics with coloured scarves to facilitate the baggage passing through security.

On March 27, journalist Renee Viellaris in Queensland’s Courier Mail reported that a crime syndicate “exploited serious security failures at major domestic airports to fly more than two tonnes of cannabis on domestic flights bound for Brisbane.”

Viellaris reported, “Police will allege that since November, a cashed-up crime gang packed about 22kg of cannabis into everyday baggage boarding about 40 flights from Victoria to Brisbane.”

Viellaris reported that Federal Transport Minister Warren Truss “refused to comment”, dropping a cone of silence much in line with the ten year long silence on alleged airport corruption since the arrest of Schapelle Corby.

More than ten years ago former Australian customs officer and investigator, Allan Kessing found huge security breaches and rife airport corruption and drugs trafficking at Sydney airport, and he argued that this was indicative of all major Australian airports. Mr Kessing told me that at the time of the arrest of Ms Corby he believed her release would only be a “formality” as Australian Governments were fully aware of the extensiveness of drugs trafficking through our airports. He believed that the Australian Government would scrub up with the truth but this was not to be. Months after the arrest of Ms Corby, and with the Government’s silence now solid, Mr Kessing’s 2002 and 2003 Sydney Airport security reviews found their way to media outlets. In an unprecedented first for Australia, Mr Kessing was charged and prosecuted for the “leaking” of his two reviews.

Mr Kessing’s reviews had been “suppressed” so not to damage commercial imperatives associated with the lucrative industry that is passenger travel. Mr Kessing said that more than 50,000 passengers fly out each day from Sydney Airport alone.

When I first began to inquire and report on Schapelle Corby’s predicament I wrote, “The story of Ms Corby threatens to draw attention to myriad layers of corruption – corruption of process, Government corruption, corruption within our airports and within Customs. A royal commission should be held into the Australian Government and of its agencies into their conduct in all matters relating to Schapelle Corby.”

I have now dug so deep into finding out the truth that the statement you just read can no longer capture the despicability of a human life thrown to the wolves, her reputation pilloried at every turn.

“Truth is no defence,” said Mr Kessing. Mr Kessing’s reports are a must-read and his interview with me, a must-listen.

The Interview with Mr Kessing – here:

Ms Corby was let down by the Australian Government which did not come to her defence, nor admitted to our nation’s corrupted airport services. The Indonesian Government had wanted Australia to own up to and then do more about remedying airport services corruption, which would mean less illicit drugs trafficked into Indonesia. Ms Corby was victimised by political expediency, but such bartering of human dignity and even life, by one’s own Government, shames to no end our Government. No paltry excuses such as national security, geopolitical reasons, nor the line of Indonesian ‘sovereignty’ wash. Every Prime Minister, Minister, senior bureaucrat, every head of any relevant Government, who knew of the extent of the rife airport corruption and drugs trafficking and who has not spoken up should be who should have languished in Kerobokan, till they sorted their moral compass.

Last year, WikiLeaks Publishing Organisation released ‘The Global Intelligence Files’ – over five million emails – from the Texan-based global intelligence analytic giant Stratfor. One of the emails was from Stratfor intelligence tactical analyst, Marko Primorac.

“Moving marijuana through international borders is big business.” Throughout the email Mr Primorac reports that random passengers’ luggage are picked out to stash illicit substances – unknowing drug mules. Mr Primorac reports that this practice is commonplace throughout airports.

In reference to Ms Corby, Mr Primorac stated, “Several baggage agents can work together to ensure packages are placed in an unsuspecting mule’s luggage. These smuggling teams place packages in luggage belonging to uninvolved passengers like Schapelle Corby, who did not even know the marijuana was in her bag. Unscrupulous? Yes. However, this is how millions of pounds of marijuana get shipped in the US and around the globe. It’s bad news if the unwitting mule gets jail time. If the pot is intercepted, as it was in Schapelle Corby’s case or if the mule figures out what’s going on and keeps the goods.”

For a more comprehensive understanding on the disturbing nature of drugs trafficking around the world you can read the WikiLeaks-released Stratfor cable in its entirety here.

Last year some members of a small crime syndicate were sentenced for drugs trafficking through Sydney Airport. One of those sentenced was a corrupted Sydney Airport customs officer, Paul Katralis. Little did he know that the Australian Federal Police would catch him out in Operation Mocha. But this sting to catch him out is only one straw of the bale according to Mr Kessing and to Mr Primorac and according to other independent reviews. In 2004, on the day Ms Corby went through Sydney’s airports – domestic and international, the NSW Crimes Commission anti-drugs surveillance drugs squad were at Sydney Airport, with Operation Mocha in place, waiting to bust a cocaine shipment from South America. The airport baggage handlers were spooked and did not retrieve the cannabis planted in Ms Corby’s luggage at Brisbane Domestic. The head of Operation Mocha, was disgraced NSW Crimes Commission assistant-director Mark Standen, now jailed for up to 20 years for drugs trafficking. To note, Operation Mocha missed catching out the cocaine shipment from South America!

Then there is the United Nations 2007 World Drugs Report. Mr Kessing said to me, “In my 15 years as a customs officer I have never heard of any report before or since Schapelle Corby of anyone trying to traffick cannabis to Indonesia. It’s like sending coals to Newcastle, it just does not happen.” The UN report found the average Australian street price per gram of cannabis at $26.20 USD while the average Indonesia street price per gram of cannabis was reported at 20 cents USD. That is a $26 USD differential. 4.2 kilograms of cannabis was found in Ms Corby’s boogie board bag. The Australian street value would have been $110,040 USD while the Indonesian street value would have been $840 USD. That the news media bypasses this vital fact should disturb everyone.

The UN report includes the conclusion, “Sale of cannabis purchased in Australia would be a profitable business model (approx. 423 per cent return on investment) whereas the same business model applied to Indonesia would result in substantial losses and would be unsustainable as a business.”

For more information on the street value of cannabis go to the United Nations World Drugs Report 2007 – refer to pages 232 to 236 -here.

It is a national disgrace and shame that there is no public national inquiry into the extensiveness of corruption and drugs trafficking through Australian airports. It is long overdue, not just for Ms Corby but also for what is right in the common good.

The Australian Crimes Commission should stand up and do its bit and publicly expose the extensiveness of the corruption within airports and the fact of unwitting drug mules. The Australian Crimes Commission should also expose every Australian Government parliamentarian, past and present, and every major agency’s high-end officers and commissioners who knew of the extensiveness of the airport corruption, and then indict them for suppressing this vital public interest information.

Mr Kessing said to me, “In my 15 years as a customs officer I have never heard of any report before or since Schapelle Corby of anyone trying to traffick cannabis to Indonesia

Well, he is very poorly informed then:

One European man, now serving a jail term for possessing hashish, said he knows of several Australians who have been bringing strong hydroponic marijuana into Bali.

He said it brings "really good money", getting a price around 50 per cent higher than the Nepalese hashish that is more widely available for around $A16 a gram on the streets.

He said the marijuana was stronger than hashish, which is produced from the same plant and has the same active constituents. "You just can't move, it's like (being) brain dead," he said of its effect.

An Australian who says he's lived in Bali for 15 years contacted The Age several times to say his children were frequently offered marijuana called "Aussie gold". The man, who refused to give his name, said the "hydroponic bud" smuggled from Australia sells for $A600 an ounce (about $A21 a gram) or as much as $A20,000 a kilogram.

Top quality marijuana in Australia sells for around $8000 a kilogram, although more when broken into "deals".

A Balinese drug dealer who has spent time in jail said he had smoked the Australian "skunk" many times with friends from Italy, Germany and Australia but had never bought or sold any.

He recognised the marijuana as Australian as it was made up of large flowers or buds, while the marijuana he sells from Aceh in north Sumatra or from Malang in East Java has much smaller buds and a lot of leaf mixed in.

Why would anyone accept Mr Kessing as a credible expert if he is so demonstrably wrong in his assumptions? Why do the authors of the article remain so oblivious to well established facts?

I'm sure we've been over this before. There were numerous arrests of foreigners smuggling drugs INTO Bali to meet the demands of the party scene, both for western tourists and Indonesian elites. Yet you keep wheeling out this same nonsense over and over again. Why is that?

Bali, drugs, money and surfing are for some intrinsically related. Kathryn Bonella knows this better than anyone and will be serialising extracts of her new book Snowing in Bali here on MSW. This best selling author and journalist has spent hundreds of hours inside Bali’s Kerobokan Prison in the course of writing her first two books, No More Tomorrows and Hotel K.

Kathryn gained unprecedented access to Bali’s biggest drug bosses, through connections made while writing Hotel K. Many of the drug dealers had also read Hotel K and liked it, as well as also proving that she wasn’t an undercover cop. The bosses agreed to be interviewed, opening up over months of recorded interviews. Snowing in Bali takes you deep into the world of Bali’s drug underworld; the parties, the orgies with sexy models in luxury villas, the multi-million dollar drug deals and sheer decadence, glamour and cash that most people could only dream of.

This book charts the rise of Bali’s drug bosses, many who first flew to the island to surf and who started trafficking drugs to pay their way. It also charts their crashes to the depths of hell – some sentenced to years in third world jails, some to death by firing squad.

We’ll be splitting it into two sections: Getting Started, and When The Music Stops For Bali Drug Dealers.

*The author often uses direct quotes from drug bosses who are talking for the first time about their business. These people are now in jail. Don’t do this at home kids.

There are two old sayings which cloud my views of Corby in the negative. The apple doesn't fall from far from the tree, and you can tell a lot about people by their friends.

It is a matter of public record that members of Schapelle Corby's family have a criminal history of involvement with drugs, even though they bitterly denied this from the outset upon Corby's arrest.

Her late father was arrested twice for cannabis use and possession in the 1970s - so what, really, a lot of people were - but he was also implicated in a much more serious and recent drug operation.

Convicted Australian drug trafficketer Shapelle Leigh Corby walks with her cell-mate in Kerobokan Jail in Bali after visitin...

Convicted Australian drug trafficketer Shapelle Leigh Corby walks with her cell-mate in Kerobokan Jail in Bali after visiting time on 24/03/2010. Source: News Limited

Mick Corby was named in a Queensland police report as part of a Gold Coast drug syndicate that was smuggling cannabis into Indonesia on passenger flights.

His best friend and next door neighbour was running a massive cannabis operation on his Gold Coast property.

When it was raided police seized 200 plants and vacuum-packed bags of dope ready to be smuggled to Indonesia in travel bags, with a total value of $600,000.

The particularly interesting point is that the Queensland police report was prepared just three weeks before Schapelle Corby was arrested.

You can't pick your relatives, I suppose. And as I suggested at the start, this type of evidence could be described as circumstantial.

But if you are trying to shake the stoner tag, it probably wasn't helpful for Corby's former lawyer to pop her head up on the Today show this week, and declare that the first thing Schapelle would do upon getting out of Kerobokan Prison was to roll herself a really big joint.

It was a moment which, to borrow a phrase from politics, could be described as "off-message".

Whether Corby is guilty is a rollicking topic for barbecue conversation, but it doesn't really matter overall in the scheme of things.

The thing which matters to me, and which if they had any sense would be abandoned forthwith, is the Corby camp's obsession with the Australian Federal Police in this episode.

I have to say I don't buy that William Moss guys story at all, 50 thousand dollars to pick up less than 5 kilos of weed get fucking real, people get paid a lot less than that to strap heroin and coke to their bodies before an international flight. If you consider the fact that the weed is not worth anywhere near that (so long as you don't apply the traditional police tactic of pricing drug seizures by breaking down the whole lot into the smallest possible deal for the highest possible price) then it makes zero sense that someone who has presumably had to pay for the cannabis as well would pay this guy 50 large to go pick it up.

In my eyes this guy is clearly lying, what his motivations for doing so are I am not sure.

^ I posted that this morning and hadn't read thru it, I'm glad you pointed that out, because that figure seems very grossly exaggerated and unbelievable.

Attention? "Good will"?
Perhaps the stupid idea that he could clear her name and be seen as some kind of hero?
Or maybe that some commercial news networks would pay him $$$$ for an interview!
An (un)educated guess; perhaps all of the above.

^ Yeah I guess those kinds of ideas aren't beyond belief. It just seems so strange to admit to that sort of shit and for what? Is the guy the full quid?
