If all drugs were legal, would the market phase some out?

meanwhile the stoners are too busy watching Harold and kumar and thinking about how weird fingers are to capitalize on Mr. Brownstone, passed out in central park.

Ever seen a guy nodding out in a car park after a hit of H? You could probably draw a cock n balls on their chin and order a meal by the time they woke up.

Scrawny arse meth addicts may look crazy but a distinct lack of body mass hardly makes them a threat.

he's trying to illustrate how easy it would be for stoners to roll someone on the nod, but I'm referring to heroin users as Mr. Brownstone, and showing how the stoners would be too high, and the opportunity would go up in smoke.

Not for everyone. Weed doesn't make me sleepy and I lose my appetite when I'm stoned. I spend my afternoons landscaping and gardening not playing video games. Most guys I know who lift weights smoke weed because there are no calories like alcohol. I'd hardly call any of them an easy target.

Invictus, i have to wonder if you have ever smoked weed?.
You seem to have a concept of weed smoker behaviour thats fuelled by government propaganda.

Even at my most stoned i could gather my wits enough to not be robbed (or at least not make it easy for the would-be mugger.lol).
Weed smokers in general dont walk around in a daze, spouting out the virtues of peace and love (well maybe noobs do...or maybe at burning man). I have lots of friends that smoke weed all day long without any noticeable detrimental effect on their performance.

I love how in this thread every heroin user is narcoleptic and every tweaker is 100 pounds, but every stoner is anorectic, clear headed, and a weighlifter with their wits about them.

p.s. it's this very arrogance about smoking weed that would make it so easy to rob them and hunt them. Weed users are so sure that marijuana is harmless, but any seasoned dopefiend is going to read them like a book, pick up on this, and lace their weed with pcp, and put them in a state of psychosis and just rob them blind and possibly harm them. Most dope people have had this happen to them already, and they always test their drugs out on other people first.

You were the one who started with the ridiculous notion of a war between users. I don't live in a ghetto and everyone I knows has a job and pays for their drug habit. I wouldn't need to defend myself from the cold weather let alone a street mugging.

not a war, a slaughter. that's honestly what I think would play out if dope were legal.

Alcohol is legal, but there are prohibitions on certain types and home distillations. OP, when you hypothetically posit that all drugs will be legal, do you mean that the government will regulate the production of drugs that make it to the legit market? If yes, I think regulatory guidelines would phase-out meth and crack. However, I think this would once again create a black-market for such drugs. Perhaps such drugs and markets would be legal, but not sanctioned by the government. As if to say the government cannot vouch for their quality and content. But I cannot imagine the government allowing an industry in which they cannot regulate cost and impose a tax.

Seriously ive been massively entertained by your posts tonight but they seem to get wilder by the minute.lol

PCP is rare as hell nowadays and i highly doubt weedsmokers are going to be dosed and robbed with it.
Ive smoked weed for over thirteen years and lived in some of Englands rougher areas, im yet to be taken advantage of and robbed.

IME, the people most likely to be robbed are those that have zero street smarts.

keep smoking weed and just wait til Europe legalizes all drugs. better yet, wait til meth hits England!

Sums it up.

this is basically what i'm talking about. The cunning dopist is out there pushing himself to improve. He is becoming wiser, faster, sneakier, more deceptive and desperate by the moment. He has technology that the weed user would call a pipe dream. Meanwhile the stoner has a permagrin and is "amused" despite the prolific warnings. He must exercise more clearheadedness if he is not to be caught off guard by the hard drug user.

^ as a dope fiend I can confirm we have postspace age techanology that the world can only imagine

and what would happen if you whipped it out right now? burned at the stake for being a witch junkie, most likely...

now imagine if dope was legal.

you see my point.

if all the hard drug users were no longer persecuted, I've always had the suspicion that they would all prey on marijuana users. Eventually the marijuana users would be hunted into extinction, and the "drug" marijuana would fall by the wayside into obscurity.
What's to stop that from happening right now?

because they are easy prey for one. and two, there is so much heat on the hard addicts already, that they wouldn't dare attempt modern day Viking raids on stoned out of their mind tokers, because it would be a pr nightmare and would end up in a crackdown on meth and heroin in any major city that tried it. But if drugs were legalized, it would be like all of a sudden the Ninja Turtles didn't have to creep about in the sewers, and could come out of the shadows. All hell would break loose, imho.
http://thatguysonheroin.com/ They are all ready out of the sewers in most places.
I couldn't picture any of these doped up people successfully robbing some one not to mention they would be extremely easy targets them selves.

^Yea I get that but why would making hard drugs legal make them switch from breaking into houses and robbing randoms on the street to support their habit to only robbing stoners?

it would be like taking candy from a baby. If I could legally do meth in colorado, i'd go over there right now and start robbing ounces from the stoners, i'd have to wait like a day tops before I could sell them back to them and they wouldn't even know it.

You didn't even answer my question at all; you just repeated the same point in the post I quoted.. Right now there are users of hard who break into homes, jewelry stores, ect which carries severe penalties whether or not drugs are involved so why would making their drug of choice legal make them switch to only robbing stoners which still would carry legal consequences whether or not the drug they are addicted to is legal. If robbing stoners is that easy then why not do it now and save the harder jobs like jewelry stores for when hard drugs become legal. lets not forget that marijuana is still illegal in most places which would make them less likely to go to the cops.
If I could legally do meth in colorado, i'd go over there right now and start robbing ounces from the stoners,
Right now no hard drugs are fully legal in Colorado but dispensaries still get broken into by people some of which use hard drugs. If you are really that worried about getting a drug charge added onto your armed robbery charge or what ever you would get for it then you are just being a pussy.
