Gibberings CLVI: Back to the Future

I'm even more intrigued by this bloody stuff now!

Can it make the time fly between now and me receiving my kratom?

sorry, i fear i may be over hyping it, though that is not my intention, and you may be dissapointed as a result. I do seem to have a particular affinity for the stuff.

Time until your delivery arrives will probably pass at its usual rate however. :)

righ well back form drugs counsellors good chat nothing much as yet only second time but she is calling doctors about conative therapy and benefits :)

Nice one FG,things finally starting to move in the right direction for you.
A good keyworker can certainly help things happen a lot quicker and easier than trying to do everything by yourself.
Hope they can help you sort out ESA as that will take one problem away from you.

<3 <3 <3 Awesome news.

Also, lots of people on here have had good experiences and results from cognative therapy (CBR) .. It can help get you in a healthy daily/weekly regime at least (I don't mean giving up drugs, more like just getting more organised so you can function better and get your dole at least)

Nah, I'm sure it'll be better than a CWE at least. And I've read some pretty positive reports from people with my level of tolerance.

Considering taking a day off tomorrow to collect my etiz and wait for the kratom to touch down, although it's a bit lame to take a holiday for the sake of (legal) drugs.

thank you both :) yes its a start least and she is really into what she does so on top things :)

Bear, that's great news! I think being able to check that RCs are what they're meant to be would be valuable.

Raas, yeah, what Shammy said, and also even with actual Mdma there are allegedly differences depending on whether it's isomeric or racemic. Alllegedly, dunno.

the legal status doesnt mean that they are any less good. It just means you dont have to be overly concerned about the long arm of the law. :\

Pfffffftttttt! Where'd you get an idea like that? ;)

Legality aside, it's still pretty shoddy of me to take a day off work just to do drugs. I've gone all straight now, after all.

Almost as shoddy as interrupting my work throughout the day to post nonsense on a drug-related forum.

Great news that you have got yourself a good keyworker FG.
I only found out for myself the other week what a difference they can make.
I was still getting calls and hassled by my Work Programme provider even though he was aware I am having chemo and that he shouldn't be bothering me.
Anyway I told my keyworker about it & she rang the ESA phone number and told them what was happening & they told her that as I'm still in the assessment phase of ESA then the work programme should be having nothing to do with me.
She then rang the work programme office & explained it to them & said she would email them about it when she got back to her office.
Next morning at 09.30 I get a call from my WP adviser informing me that he won't be bothering me for at least 6-8 weeks.
I'd been worried for weeks about it and yet my keyworker had got it all sorted out with 2 phone calls and one email.
Fucking great lady.

I would save your day off tbh, if you are setting things up to make a big event, or an occasion out of it, you may be disappointed. I would reccomend you keep your expectations low, i expected nothing from kratom as on the previous occasions i had tried it in a tea it did not work atall. :\

I guess that it would be a pointless exercise taking kratom if you take methadone daily?

Seems like it'd be a waste from what I've read. Unfortunately.

Save my day off? I'm still trying hard to get rid of last year's holidays! :D

I wouldn't be making a big event out of it really; it'd just be something to do once the wanking starts to hurt.

Everyone who claims ESA has to go through an assessment period which they say is 12-13 weeks but can be quicker or longer.
I had to fill in a form that ATOS sent to me and there is a special section for people going through same sort of thing as me and they did say that due to the treatment I'm having I shouldn't have to have a face to face assessment.
After the assessment period you get placed into one of two groups and you should then qualify for some extra money afaik.

I see still seems a bit off going through all this yor doctor should just write a note and that's that .

just got a call to speak to a adviser at the job centre but im not ringing them because they will click who it is I've been using them for the last 3 years so they know my voice going to wait till after speaking to the doctors in the morning

At the moment while I am waiting to be assessed I just send in a sicknote from my doctor once a month.
While in assessment I still get same as on JSA £71pw but once they have assessed me I should be able to get about an extra £30 a week.
The form I sent to ATOS has info on it from my doctor at the hospital stating my condition and the type of chemo treatment I'm receiving so once they get round to me they should place me into the support group which is what the DWP rules state since they changed them in January 2013.

Truthquoted. Hope you find a bit of much-needed stability and support with your new key worker, FG. A good key worker is worth their weight in gold.

Good news, Max. The last thing anybody needs when they're having to deal with treatment like yours is being hassled (and, basically, threatened) by DSP employees who don't even know their own system (which is most of 'em (imo, ime, ymmv, etc, etc)). I've always found that it's amazing how much they get away with by essentially breaking their own rules - if you try and deal with it yourself you just get fobbed off or downright lied to but all of one phone call from somebody acting on your behalf (key worker, CAB advisor, etc) and suddenly you get put though straight to management who apologise profusely and all the hassle stops. That little bit of power doesn't half go the heads of some people :\

It certainly does help to have somebody on your side who can represent a bit of authority when making calls for you.
I've no doubt if it wasn't for my keyworker making those calls I would still be getting threatened with having my benefit cut, sanctioned etc.
I really hope that FG keyworker gets things sorted out for him and takes away a lot of the needless stress from him.
I never liked asking for help from people before but now I've seen what a bit of help from someone can do I won't be so hesitant to ask for help again.

Yeah, a lot of people don't like asking for help which is quite understandable. Unfortunately, the way the system is means that unless you are very well-informed about the benefits system and are also very confident and assertive you mostly get nowhere with 'em. I've had situations where I've spoken to them myself on the phone in the morning and they've sworn up and down that such and such is the case and I just have to deal with it, same day I've gone to the advice centre and suddenly that's not the case and actually they made a mistake - even had the odd apology as a result. The problem is that if I hadn't wanted - or hadn't been able to for whatever reason - sought help and advice I would've been in far shittier situations than I should've been. I really do think it's worth seeking advice when it comes to dealing with benefits and stuff cos many DSP employees are just flat out dishonest if they think they can possibly get away with it in my experience.

Just been spending some time fiddling with my CV as requested to by an agency to make it macth a job spec, hit send only to spot a grammatical blunder. Re-sent a second corrected cv aplogising for the mistake on the 1st one. Then spotted another mistake on the second one. :! Bollocks, i dont think i could get away with sending it a 3rd time in as many minutes. The phrases incompetent and careless twat come to mind. The mistake is 'only' one of the formatting variety but is damned annoying now ive spotted it and cant do anything about it. Hopefully the agency will perform the required tweak for me, though i know that is not their job to do that.
