I'm a no-ish to Manc on the 8th.. I'd pop in for a few hours in the afternoon, and say a very wasted hello at 8am on the 9th, but that would probably be your lot.

(I'll be bouncing around an amazing electro/psytrance night which is very big and would be easy to lose people. In all practicalities you wouldn't see much of me, and the night costs about £20 so really only for people that actually want to go. But if anyone wants to come to that, chuck me a PM.)

not the absence of motorways that causes me problems it's the LENGTH of the mototrways.

The m74 TURNS INTO the A74. :P

Once you hit the M74 it's pretty much a straight run to B'ham. A very long straight run, admittedly...

lol Knock you cunt.

I've been scrolling through the page for ages wondering what the hell happened to my post, eventually putting it down to a server problem.

Alas, your abuse of moderation is no match for my Windows Notepad:

Sorry man but Birmingham is the arsehole of England and you wouldn't get me there for 52 virgins.

I can get to more or less anywhere - I truly do not give a toss where. This month is the only chance I have of getting out at all for the foreseeable though so am just getting a bit irritated with peoples' inablility to just make a decision. It's not brain surgery. Town/City + Date. That's all. Is it really that hard?

Ermmm....

Thing with B'ham is it's really easy to reach for anyone, has motorways leading right to the city from all directions. The town is big, and has hundreds of places to eat/drink, massive shopping area, and also the delightful canals if anyone fancies a ride. (Shambles <3)

Shambles it really is hard because of peoples range of locations, difficulties associtaed in days off work and subsequent organisational problems, alot has to be considered for time/place.

It would be nice to ascertain which posters would turn up, and what would be suitable for them. You've given us your convenient time/date.

Later Feb would be nicer for me, but could do early Feb if it proves popular. Friday would be the best day for me.

The problem with trying to accomodate everybody is that nothing ever actually happens, Raas. Obviously it's best to find the ideal time/place for everybody who wants to go but it just means that nobody goes anywhere. Painfully slowly. But yeah, wake me up when a decision has been made. Brum is far more convenient for me cos it's dead easy to get to and not ridiculously expensive. As I said though, I'm really not fussed but if it doesn't happen in the next month or so I'll probably have to sit it out wherever it may be cos I'll not have the cash to pay for any of the necessaries after that.

great gear in brum, shambles.. as compared to where? my experience is analogous to shm's comparison to bodily orifices. last stop on the european drug carousel, and seemingly filled with people who care even less than your joe average firm how much and what in particular they stamp into what is already a pretty piss fucking poor product. theres some nice weed though, i'll give you that

find it hilarious you lot are having some of the same problems with the site i was having a few months back. no smilies, problems embedding, using nsfw or quotes. infuriating, isnt it? mine works perfectly now, just so you all know

oh and fwiw, brierley hill is the centre of the brutalist architecture universe. a total world within itself, full of drug abuse and poverty, yet within sight of the other half. if anyone is interested, the middle column of balconies, of the left most tower - the infamous st.johns block - thirteenth floor, second from top - is precisely where myself and farmaz lived for a good few years. tis the very same balcony on which we witnessed the black jet flyby level with us. perhaps the pilot was also into his or her brutalist architecture, and in fact ended up well within a hundred feet of making it considerably moreso brutal. a homesick moscow'vite, perhaps

Dont forget Dudley Zoo just down the road... brutal architecture in keeping with the brutal treatment of the unfortunate inhabitants.!

I could be a maybe for either brum or Manchester work depending.....

If anyone cares :)

@BHM- my pal lived in the third block from the left, what a depressing place. Most high rise estates tend to be though don't they.

ah yes, dudley. lived there for many years. you are correct, it is also draped in a thick blanket of concrete snowfall. it is currently dying a slow death, with i believe one of the highest proportion of closed high street shops in the country, with the remaining a veritable menagerie of pawn shops, payday loan companies and of course the ubiquitous betting shops. the de rigueur modern town plan for working class self-asphyxiation

Haha, I did a course in dudley a couple of years ago (the harry mitchell college on castle hill) and I actually thought the town centre was rather nice, but then i live in Crewe, so what do i know...
