Snoo V7 - ah spring, has sprung, a SNOO! (bless you).

Ooh forgot we had a pet thread :D Good plan that. She used to be lovely and sleek and pure black but since she's been living outside she's gone all furry and is black with a white tummy and what look like nicotine stained paws <3 Also those neckerchiefs sound absolutely fucking adorable haha, I've never seen a cat rocking one of those.

Cats are snootastic tho, got followed down the street by one earlier when I had to stop off at my new place n take some photos. Was an adorable ginger and black thing with a hilariously massive head. Would not leave me be, woulda probably robbed it if it hadn't had a collar.
 
My new snoo is my bath. I haven't had a bath for years but my new flat has one, and it doesn't have a hook to put the shower up over, so I've been having a nice soak instead. Supposed to be good for my sore arse too, and the warmth is getting my digestion going nicely - I've been having issues with keeping things moving the last few days, not sure if it's this stricture, adhesions, a partial blockage, just stress or something more sinister like pouchitis. Hopefully whatever it is I can keep it at bay with any new regular bath time! Even better after spending 20 minutes with my head in someone's armpit on the tube on my commute tonight too :p The waterproof phone I bought seems less pointless now as well!
 
Baths rock, especially if you're ill or achey and definitely if you've been stuck in someone's armpit for that long. Been in a similar situation to yourself for the past few years and first thing I'm doing when I get settled in my new place is jumping in the bath and firing up a spliff.
 
House finally FINALLY sorted for reals this time. Just need to go pick the keys up =D About fuckin time. So many false starts and fuck ups I was starting to wonder how anyone ever managed to move house at all.

edit: updated related snoo, finally settling in after being away over Xmas, feels awesome to have my own place for the first time. Can't quite get over thinking it's just rented but will come when I get decorating and bring some more of my shite over.

Yesterday I bought meself three (count 'em three!?!) new/old pairs of trousers from the charity shop cos have been low on clothes wot fit for ages now. Tried 'em all on today and all three are too big for me - wearable (belt required (when I get one) for at least one) but definitely too big. This is much snoo. Especially as I was a bit annoyed at putting on loads of weight over the festives that I'd lost just before said festives.

I do wish that whoever it was that decided that women's clothes should have buttons, zips and what have you the opposite way around to they are on men's clothes hadn't decided on such a thing though. It's surprisingly fiddly trying to fasten buttons "backwards" :!

Presumably they are so designed as to make it easier for the (right-handed) man to unbutton/unzip "his" woman's clothes. Heaven forbid the fairer sex should be in charge of their own undressing.

Actually, it was supposedly all to do with dressing rather than undressing. That and warfare. Not sexism. Sorry. :)

Buttons were more or less the preserve of the upper echelons of society for centuries. Women were usually dressed by servants, and it was easier for them to do this if the buttons were placed on the left hand side.

What about the peasants? For many years, peasant clothes used laces in place of buttons. It was only with the advent of cheaper materials in button manufacturing that they became available to the masses.

Men, however tended to dress themselves. In addition to this, (particularly in the military, which has always been fond of its buttons) they required easy access to their sword, which was usually placed on the left hip. By making the coat overlap left-over-right, the wearer was able to draw his sword with his right hand and unbutton his coat with the left.

There are more explanations put forward, but those are the two most plausible ones. Though the male / female button divide is by no means a universal thing. Especially outside of western Europe.

I was pretty close with my guess then Sam, I mean I got it right that the women involved were not undressing themselves. No credit at all? You're a hard man ;)

I thought you'd found a salient point about patriarchy previously unmentioned knock. Then I thought of bra straps. Which may well have been designed by men. But certainly not for men in the way you suggested.

Turned out that two of 'em need a belt to keep from falling down. I was within nanoseconds of accidentally flashing a lil auld lady at the doctor's this morning. Just managed to catch a belt loop with me thumb but given the look she gave me I suspect she thought I was actually trying to flash her and missed or summat :o

Anyhoo, two belts acquired for two quid in town just now so am a happy bunny. Nice belts too. Although they were the only two on the rack that actually went far enough round me that I could reach the holes. I'm not that frikkin big so presume there must be a lotta lithe ladies donating belts to the charity shop recently. The mere fact of a belt being absolutely necessary is enough to make it snoo all the same.
 
Women tend to donate belts more often, aye.

Men usually own two or three belts at most and hang on to them until they fall apart. Well done on not-quite-flashing old ladies.

Somewhat spookily, that is actually precisely the case for me and why I needed to buy new belts. Are we so very predictable as a gender? Almost certainly yes for the most part 8)

Lol, oh god =D

Today was pretty snoo-tastic despite general feeling really rough (think I let the etiz get a hold again, don't fucking take much does it?). Had shite start to the day then picked up Mrs Snolls n headed off to go boating. Fortunately we got distracted by a sign post to a nature reserve and took a detour. Pissed ourselves at first because it was in the middle of a massive high-rise estate and it looked to be comprised of several geese, a ditch, several other geese, and a football pitch but had a wander and there were loads of trails and a big fishing lake and bird spotting things and whatnot. Was really nice. Only unsettling thing was we thought we got lost, came back across the trail we'd followed previously, and neither of us had any memory of the picnic area and...lake view-y thing before it despite it being the only way to get to the trail bar coming back down it. Weird. So maybe we got molested by aliens but all in all it was a good day and I would heartily recommend it to young couples or those with small children.
