Embarrassingly I do remember radio licenses. And dog licenses.
Me too which is possibly why I thought it was still in place. Dog licences definitely aren't needed these days and haven't been for ages now. And watching TV on tinternet is perfectly legal without a licence as long as it's not live (which is presumably what that thingy Knock quoted says but haven't read it cos I had to go through all this when the licence folk were hassling me). Basically, you can use iPlayer, 4oD and the like without a licence but not *sites I probably shouldn't name here* which show live streamed UK television.
This is possibly the sum total of my knowledge of the world of licences. Aside from a passing familiarity with the convict variety.
