Benzos Switching from Aprazolam to a longer acting benzo, temazepam?

Mate, seriously, stick with the mirtazapine for another week. The first week or so, it made me aggressive and paranoid, worsening my anxiety but after a couple of weeks it was like a switch had been thrown and my anxiety/paranoia levels dropped considerably.

Mirtazapine screwed with my head. They should take this evil stuff off the market.

Damn Kat.....benzos are DEF not youre med. The mirtazapine increases this fears of eing drugged. Benzos increase that paranoia.

Its really strange to explain, ive been a paranoid wreck since i can remeber, but before my paranoia was centered on things like an intruder and shit. But now everytime i go somewhere, meet somebody who uses whatever drug, im always convinced they slipped me some shit like eve nATM. It fucking sucks. And mirtazapine + benzos increases this fears. I dont even trust the pizza delivery service.

And the mirtaz + benzos make me zombie, feel like im on seroquel fo real. Im still going to give it 3 weeks. And if the anxiety doesnt go away then fuck the mirtaz.

Damn man that's some fucked up paranoia. I couldn't imagine. I mean I have my own (any time my heart rate increases even a little I freak out, I panic in the shower, I freak out leaving the safety of the house, etc) but luckily I am rarely paranoid about people - except for people on coke or meth. I get sketched as fuck when someone is high on that shit around me.

And yeah Xanax and Klonopin are bad for me but Valium was a godsend for quite awhile. I think I've hit the point where anything beneficial is now gone though... Ugh.

Mirtazapine has an adjustment period like any other antidepressant but its the only one besides trazodone that I can take with or without a mood stabilizer and not get kicked straight into full-blown mania. That alone makes it beneficial for me and now that I finally have an appointment with a new doctor on Monday, I'm going to discuss mirtazapine with her.

By that logic, all SSRIs should be gone as well.

Whether you like a medication or not, it has benefits for some people. Mirtazapine works in situations where no other medication does.

If we follow your logic then benzos should be pulled off the market because out of all the prescriptions I've seen, benzos destroy their users the most frequently without even needing to be abused.

alprazolam is the devils benzo. the huge relief it provides is nothing compared to w/d'ing from it or even tapering it it too quickly. i would suggest (this worked well for me) switch to valium. the halflife is great. almost no interdose withdrawls. i went from 50mg down to 27.5 very comfortably and easily. Im fortunate to have an understanding psych nurse who knows slower is better.

best of luck, this is a tough ride to get off of, once you buy the ticket.

Valium is the devil because longer half life the w/d's creep up later on. I've seen what valium does to people and its not good at all.

Valium is far safer in immediate withdrawal than most benzos though, especially Xanax.

I've been through withdrawals from Xanax, Klonopin, and Valium. I would rank the withdrawal the worst from Xanax because they start so quickly and they peak before you know it. Klonopin is second although I have never felt as miserable as I did when they took me off of it on a 3 day rapid taper - by the 7th day, my resting pulse was 180, I hadn't slept in a few days, I was shaking uncontrollably, I couldn't eat, hell I didn't even get out of bed.

Fast forward to Valium and I did a rapid detox and it became unbearable on the 10th day. I ended up reinstating.

That said, I'd take Valium out of any of the three.

Ah well clonazepam valium don't cut it for me. Clonaz Useless garbage. High dose wears off bout 4 hrs maybe metabolism fast because I don't eat correct.

Im giving it 3 weeks mate, if there is no better its going in the garbage. haah.

I cant say it screws my head, but it def some of the benzo side effects and my paranoia and makes me feel like a total zombie at some moments.

I agrree Kat that his logic is flawed, but im AGAISNT ssris so bad. That shit should really be pulled off from the market. Im sure there is some hidden shit in that category of meds that is being designed specially to fuck ones brain up.

Now non -ssri antidepressants are another story. I never tried trazadone, trying the mirtaz rite now and it isnt great. Like i told bunge, still gonna give it 3 weeks. Im paranoid around everybody even if they use or no i almost placebo myself in the effect sometimes and that shit is driving me mad. I wotn even drink something in a restaurant or eat a something that i cant see the pieces one by one and still then i go on crazy theories how they injected it with something.

Thank you for the good wishes, but diazepam is horse crap for me. Clonazepam works at least a bit on the anxiety, unlike diazepam which i can take 100 mgs at once and just feel a slight muscle relaxtion and mind fogginess but 0 zero axni-olitic effects.

Damn the idea of stopping xanax isnt that nice anymore haha after hearing that wish i had an endless suplly of xanax lol.

I started liking clonazepam actually. It works somewhat on GAD atleast. What do you take as benzo <<dunno> ?

Alright well here is an idea a good friend of mine gave me, take for example 3 or 4- 2 mg doses of clonazepam everyday. Make it a bit stronger by adding a weaker benzo like bromazepam for example. And take xanax ONLY if i have a unctrollable panic attack. Im going to check shit out about lyrica and neurontin too. Main goal is to get off xanax because that shit is seriously crack of the downers.

I want to say a big thank you to everybody who contributed to this thread, had loads of good advice from you all. Thank you :)

IMO i like tamazapam better.. i know its spelled wrong.. but i get prescribed 30mg pills for my PTSD. seems like it knocks me the fuck out.. even when im dope sick ass hell. and i can almost never sleep when im sick. i just pop them also. ive never snorted or banged them

Valium is in no way "the devil....." that's just crazy talk. It's a miracle drug for many including myself, but what works for me might not work for you. It doesn't make it evil if it doesn't work for you or if you've seen paradoxical effects.

This thread has definitely run its course. I still say Diazepam, or even Chlordiazepoxide for a slow taper.
