No, of course not Sire, you've got the USP of being able to cache everybodies drugs at will, all in the name of HR. Admin chores can be left to the lesser, Mod Jirds, or Jird Mods

Any time i have asked a question about combos or dosage I have always had a correct HR answer. I ve never had "its not recommended but you'll be fine".

Ahhhh, see I thought it had already been decided that something 'HAD' to be done and a new strategy 'brainstormed'.

I'm in full agreement with the above about good advice usually being given up readily by the majority already.

'Cept for OTW's advice, which I find highly inappropriate usually, unless you happen to be standing in the same pair of freshly polished brogues he's stood in, which is hugely unlikely. And thus it has a reverse effect.

The only problem that niggles me EADDwise re HR is the occasional promotion of poly RC and drug use, in such a way that it's a badge of honour. But I haven't seen that for a while, and it's a bit of a sensitive one, so I'll leave off that one for now.

Yeah there's been no decision to change anything. Just a discussion. In terms of HR, I generally think the status quo is pretty much good. But I'm not so sure about the other thread stuff.

I think a simple making it clear that certain threads should be kept rudeness and insult free, and only post in them if youre gonna be helpful would work personally. Any pisstaking or unhelpful commentary removed etc & people warned/infracted if necessary would work.

In terms of the current community, how many standout characters and comments could really be deemed as being offensive regularly atm?

There aren't any mad comments as far as I can tell and only one or two rogues very occasionally. And in all fairness, what chance do you honestly stand against Sebastian's Ghost?

Barring the threads I just mentioned, it's a non problem as far as I can see.

Like Becoming Julie mentioned, if people just get in the more frequent habit of giving someone a little nudge to whomever is clearly over the line, then the problem should moderate itself. People learn a bit more, and move on

I think maybe the main thing is that members need to feel more confident speaking up when someone's talking about something unsafe. Personally, I try to, but I still feel like a boring arsehole for doing so. I also like the idea of a sticky HR thread and mods adding a "Don't try this at home, kids!" to posts detailing obviously risky practises.

I definitely don't like the idea of having parts of EADD banning drug-talk.. I think that would stilt conversations a lot. I also don't like the idea of segregating "hard" and "soft" drug users.. I've often found that reading other people's experiences have been reminders to not touch certain substances. As for "dangerous drug use", I probably said before, but that's a very hard thing to define.

Swampy, the odds of you being a boring arsehole are pretty fucking slim. I'm not a betting man, maybe a flutter on GN every now and again, but if I had to bet on you being a boring arsehole, I'd be betting against it.

Anyway there is no substitute for trying stuff out and seeing what the results are! So I encourage you. All of you! Be more vocal! Contribute more. You no doubt have much to give, and in the process much to learn. That's how I found it myself.

The forum will die if people don't make noise. Make noise! Good noise, if you can, but really, make noise <3

And yeah, a sticky HR thread would be extremely uncontroversial. And a piece of piss to set up and maintain. The main person we seem to have to appease here seems to be Si Ingwe :D Not to put you on the spot Si, but how does this grab you? How are feeling about this shit after quite a lot of discussion has taken place?


And finally: See, you guys really are pretty fucking great at discussing stuff aren't you? I want to give you all a present for being so great. But I've only got one white hard hat, barely used. So I might have to pick one of you receive the White Hard Hat prize. Anyone really want it?

Just be warned, people get pissed when you tell them they are approaching junkie town. Everyone thinks they are in control or they know best for their body. Self medication is a farce. You never see people ordering chemo drugs from Silk Road.

sorry it was more meant to be flippant (but genuine) than patronsing ;) and also, you know, some people are sceptical about members being able to discuss this sort of thing, so it's sort of for them too, me sticking my tounge out at them ;p

Some people covert (and get off on) secrecy in this type of situation, it's a cheap power source and parental shite and totally unnecessary

You aren't gonna give it up tho now are you? .... I hope not. You're particularly good at posting and modding. Just go spend half an hr in the lounge everytime you think about hanging yer hat up, it does wonders for the soul.
