2013-2014 Football Thread v.3 - Come on You Hull

was watching Southampton v Man City earlier today, pretty sick goal scored by the guy Osvaldo or however its spelled.

NBC is doing it right imo, they put BPL games on tv on saturday mornings before and college football (our football) happens on saturdays in the states

so I wind up just getting baked on saturday mornings and watching some footy on the tele as you guys would say.

Saf timed his exit better than usain bolt.

Just as I predicted, mediocre squad who's been overachieving due to a manager that knows how to win the league. What you're seeing now is the lethal combination of a mid table manager and some average players. Questions are:

Who will want to join them in January.
Who can they get in January.

With the situation united are in, and the fact that I can see no club wanting to let go of their big players, united will get nobody or pay silly cash for someone who isn't worth it.

Even with this squad, play Zaha and jauzaj on the wings, Rooney and Rvps as 9 1/2's, and carrick and Fellini centrally until you buy another center mid in January who can pull the strings in midfield and bring some cohesion to the side. This way you can push on for top 4 spot.

Most importantly, get rid of Moyes. Look at the beautiful brand of football Everton are now playing. Like I said earlier in the season, he was holding them back. Just make sure he's not British.

Bloody hell folk need to give him time for fuck sake. What did people expect? It's not a great squad but it's not his squad. He'll get it right. Everton wouldn't be the playing the 'beautiful brand of football' if it weren't for Moyes. They would be languishing in the lower divisions for years. They played good football last year as well.

If anyone should be getting judged it should be Mourinho. He's getting away with the flack because of the Moyes talk.

Moyes is tactically inept at playing an attractive brand of football that provides plenty of goals. He's a 1-0 manager not a 3-2 one.

And Everton statistically are doing better this season than they EVER have under Moyes. The way they knock the ball around this season is something Moyes can only dream of.

Mark my words, as long as Moyes is in charge you'll continue to see games with no attacking flair and negative tactics.

This is my luck recently.. (maybe I need to put head over heart and stop betting for united.. )

Im though with accumulators.. back to heavy staking singles for me.

I too always believed Moyes was holding Everton back, true they might not have the financial resources of the rich clubs but they're still no mugs, any decent manager should have them end the season in the top-10 regularly, Moyes never really did anything with them apart from making them defensively solid and hard to beat.

I think Man Utd are reaching a Liverpool with Hodgson situation fast, it's okay to try not to adopt a revolving door managerial policy like the Chelsea or Inters of this world, but how low are you going to allow the coach to drag you?

Man Utd is a club that is big enough to have title and CL aspirations every season, do people see in Moyes the ability to challenge on multiple fronts? For starters I wouldn't even trust him with a budget.

That was a classy goal from Deulofeu.

Fingers crossed Everton are in the top 4 at the end of the season as I'd love to see what Martinez can do with a larger budget.

What you think of Moyes? Its going to be tough to win over the fans if ye lose touch with top 4
Still in CL though might be some light at the end there

top 4 at a push for us this year, not a hope of us winning the CL mate. to many average players and a few top teams who will beat us no prob.

will give Moyes the full season before i judge him but he not doing himself any favours.

fergie left him a poor squad, the club fucked up over the summer, alot of players making mistakes and others not up to it imo.

Indeed. Giroud's effort at the end would have easily been the best of the season. Having said that, in a game where chances are hard to come by his finishing was poor. Probably a deserved result for Everton but I felt we had way more clear cut chances. Fantastic game.

Loool. I can smell the bait miles away you sick little troll. Unsubscribe and go watch nascar before I give you an extended vacation.

Are you talking about the American sports franchise owner, who owns basketball’s Philadelphia 76ers and ice hockey team New Jersey Devils? If so & in short the answer is no not really. Its certainly not good for the fans when overseas money buys football clubs here in the UK.

Charlton are currently owned & co-owned by Tony Jiminez and Michael Slater. This US multi-billionaire investment banker Josh Harris is BAD NEWS for Charlton who are steeped in history, but in the lower leagues atm. Just look at what the Gillete brothers did to Liverpool FC. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Liverpool_F.C.#2007_takeover

Hope this helps you
