woah, I'd heard he'd been arrested but didn't know the extent of the charges ....



The rock singer Ian Watkins is to strand trial today accused of raping and sexually assaulting a baby and conspiring to rape a child.

The 36-year-old former Lostprophets frontman, who has been remanded in custody since being charged last year, has also has been accused of possessing, making and distributing indecent images of children.

He denies 24 sexual offences.

The trial at Cardiff Crown Court is set to last around three weeks, with two women who cannot be named for legal reasons, also facing sexual offence accusations as part of the case.

All three defendants face a total of 32 charges.

Last month the remaining members of rock act Lostprophets, who have sold around 3.5 million records since their formation in 1997, announced the band had split up.

Jonnathan King's case in those terms were possibly similar to Gambo's. I've always seen them as the same person or twins

I think I was more shocked finding out about the Lost Prophets guy than any of the other celebs.
Certainly shocked my sons mother as she used to fancy him apparently.
 
It's quite possibly the most disturbing paedo story of the whole lot. The rest of them are shocking, no question, but this one involves babies, animals, HIV... the whole shebang. If there's any truth to even a fraction of it, the guy's seriously disturbed.

I'd actually forgotten all about it. I'll be watching this one with a mixture of morbid fascination and disgust.
 
yeah. me thinks some ladies have perhaps been seduced (he's fucking gorgeous, as max alluded to) ... and by seduced, I don't mean 'not at fault', in any way, shape or form. Quite the opposite.

And yes, I'm also inclined to think he was exerting some sinister influence on the young women involved in this case. The whole picture is really very unsavoury indeed.

Eh, I've actually had some in depth conversations with a paedophile before (24yrs old) .. he wasn't 'practicing' ... eh, I can't think of a different word, someone correct me please if necessary ... anyway, learned a lot from talking to him (his mum was a psychologist and he was at uni studying the same - he'd confessed to his mum,and she's explained that his father had had similar preferences, which this guy didn't know about until past his 20s)

Often, it appeared to be the inability to interact/engage with women in general, that I summised from our conversations was a key reason for 'oddballs' turning to such practices (if it hadn't been introduced via upbringing and already internal to the family unit)

But this guy ... hrmn, IF, and it is obviously is an IF at this stage, this guy is guilty, he may have had an insanely fucked up childhood to be guilty of what he's being accused. The mind boggles on this particular subject

I have nothing to say on excuses.

I'm just interested in reasoning and understanding in order to gain further knowledge.

Feel free to continue with whatever approach youre coming from. It's a bit different to my own and I don't really understand it.

Actually, I wont. I'm can easily manage my curiosity when it comes to certain things. Tie it into his current charge and I'm not even remotely interested.

I've heard enough already. Tah for the warning tho.
 
I feel sorry for some paedophiles, the non-practicing type of course. Must be awful having sexual desires that you can't ever legally and morally satiate.

Aye, could just fuck off abroad though. You know where marrying them off to be raped sorry married off as young as 8 and buggery with animals is completely normal in society, different cultures though ey.
