I think 'controversial' might not be the correct word. There are other words tho.

yeah i struggle to remember film and song titles and band names and stuff. I put it down to having almost 43 years worth of stuff in my memory. Its not really that bad, though i cant say that i can recognise every EADDer by their posts alone. There's a fair few i could, they are probably the ones on my friends list as i feel i kind of know them in some way.

Well, I know, it really depends on what company you keep, and it washes over me, but A Serbian Film features infant sexual abuse, I think wanking over that could be described as controversial =D Obviously we're all friends here etc etc. But anyway that is fairly typical of RLP's output in between the odd bout of burying-girlfriend-in-countryside.

Some good taste already in this thread with most of my fav's mentioned already, but I'm going to throw Leon into the mix as I dont think anybodies mentioned it yet. Clockwork Orange and Good Will Hunting are particular favourites as well.

Watched Black Swan tonight and enjoyed that far more than expected. Well, I say far more than expected as anything with Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis in is always going to be worth watching. =D

All great movies and Natalie did an admiral job for a non jedi in Starwars 1 (2.. somma ya win somma you loose)

Ed: sent anakin on the right turn arguably too no wonder he took it out on luke like that.

Leon and Good Will Hunting. Yes. Good choices. Black Swan was highly acclaimed too. I can see why.

I watched A Serbian Film last night. Im surprised its not banned. If it is banned please let me know, the evidence will have gone by the time the authorities get here. :\ Unfortuantely my download didnt have the whole film, maybe 2/3 of it a guess. I wanted to know what happened next. Its not on youtube. Probably even a bit much for xhamster and stuff too. I'll try and find another torrent link (if its not banned) I dont think its a contendor for best movie, but most controversial movie, an outright winner Id say, makes irreversible seem like Snow White and The Seven Drawfs. The music alone should come with a public health warning. I thought i was immune to being disturbed and shocked by films. Ive found out that Im not.

The Serbian state investigated the film for crime against sexual morals and crime related to the protection of minors.[4] The film has been banned in Spain, Portugal, France, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, and Singapore, rejected in Norway, cut for a record of 19 minutes in the United States, and temporarily banned from screening in Brazil where a decision to repeal the film has not been made yet."

So, its not banned in the UK, im surprised tbh, allthough the most disturbing scenes i saw were not graphic, the "Newborn Porn", they left things to the imagination, which possibly made it even more disturbing. Although this may sound pretentious the film seemed to be about the insane director and his vision for a new genre of "Newborn Porn" and was exploring these themes of child porn and sick porn, rather than merely being a child porn/sick porn film, if that makes any sense :?

Weirdly the serbian language seems to have some things in common with the welsh language, "ti" for "you" for example and in the way the sentences were constructed. Its a shame Serbian is not a particularly uefull world wide language as i feel i could pick it up quite well.

First romance i ever read, found the book at my Nans. Published in about the 1920s ...long story short she gets ravished, doesn't care for it then does.

The film with Valentino does the book no justice at all but is watchable. Directed by George Melford.

I thought it was pretty funny. It's so over the top and deliberately "shocking" that it just becomes a total farce.

Did you not see the end of it then? Where errrrrrrrrrrycunt gets raped? I'm fairly sure the guy kills at least one dude with his big pinger lol.
 
My favourite film currently rotating on Sky is Catherine Bigalow's Zero Dark Thirty, even if Jessica Chastain's character owes a little to much to Jody Foster in The Silence of the Lambs, watch out for James Gandolfini's excellent cameo
