Recently I took 5 HTP to treat depression related insomnia but to my surprise it is causing the opposite effect, It is giving me sleepless nights. I took it about 2 hours before bedtime and it made me feel drowsy initially but then I woke up after 2 hours feeling extremely tired and couldn't get back to sleep again.
I only started taking 5 HTP after reading reviews about it on various places on internet (vast majority of them were positive about its sleep inducing effects).
Does someone know of a better way of taking 5 HTP or is it not meant for insomnia? I am 100% sure that I suffer from stress and depression.
