Gibberings CXLVI: I've Seen Things, I've Seen Them With My Badgers

I was homeless in late 2010. Had nowhere to go but my mate's flat. I was using at the time.

His girlfriend recently told me he remembers it as one of the happiest, funniest times of his life.

narh brimz has given you the answers you probably allready knew. Intuition will tell you whether they're gonna do a midnight flit with your valuables, although chances are if they're sharing their buds with you then they'll be decent folk.

about the homeless people, the balance VERY quickly changes - even if they are okay. instead of being the girl who kindly opened up her house to them - youre the bitch who kicked them out onto the streets. as brimz says, youre not doing them any favours. theres no motivation to get your shit sorted like spending winter nights on the streets TRUST ME


give them brekkie the mora, and busfayre to the nearest town with a hostel/shelter. there are people in there specifically to help people get housed. and is directly how i got my help. from roofless to hostel to crap flat to decent flat. youll be doing them a big favour longterm

the best part is imagining him opening up his folder (immaculately organised, naturally) and furiously searching for the most aposite one for a given situation. and he wonders why his life is a picture of mediocrity

most generous ive been is giving money to homeless people, and cigs and sitting chatting to them for ages, not sure id let one in though. must be horrific living on the streets, especially in winter, fuck that
