I struggled to find any but have this one of the ZZR1100, 145BHP 0-60 in a tad over 3 seconds

I'd post up a pic of my scoot but its a very individual machine, I'll send you a link

Nice bike there Allein,I think I once rode pillion on a ZZR1100,but it was through city streets so didn't get to feel it's full power.
I remember when living in Germany my friend had a CBR600 and he took me out on it on the Autobahn.
I had a hooded waterproof jacket on and the wind was catching in the hood and it was pulling me backwards while strangleing me at the same time.
The feel of speed was brilliant though.

I had it up to gone 170MPH more than once but long sweeping bends at 120 are far more thrilling IME.

The Lambretta at 60 is enough to put the fear of the almighty into you though !

I had an original ZX10 before that, it was mint and I wish I had never sold it now, the ZZR brakes were shite despite me fitting braided hoses and all that so I got rid.

It was after 25 years of biking I crashed a scooter at 15MPH and smashed my leg up:!

Them leg injuries can be nasty.
One of my friends was on a Yamaha 350 'powervalve' think that's what it was called & he got hit from the side by a car and had pins put in his legs. He had them in for about a year then they were gonna take them out but something wasn't right so I think he had these pins in his leg for about 18 months, looked very painful indeed.

I've got a plate about 140mm long holding my tibia together and another plate holding part of my knee together (14 screws I think), they were supposed to stay in but it's looking like they will have to rebreak the tibia as its not straight, will have to have a new knee in the next few years as well.

I consider myself lucky, I spent a bit of time in a wheelchair but I knew I would walk again, kinda focused the mind a bit though

Sounds nasty mate. If you can, would you ride a bike again or would Mrs A be totally against it?

I have been back on the road on my Lambretta since about March, I doubt I'd ride a big bike again though as my left leg is too week and given all the hassle I caused to Mrs A it would be kinda takin the piss.

I crashed a Suzuki Burgman 400 which is a big commuter scooter, I fixed it up and rode it down to get the MOT done, it hasn't put me off really but I don't want to commute on 2 wheels anymore. I've had much worse crashes TBH I just got unlucky, a car driver deliberately forced me into a traffic island and I had to drop the bike, he then proceeded to drive off at speed...tosser.

My knee was smashed and dislocated and the tibia was broken in 2 places, they had to put the knee back in and pull my leg straight to get the bits of tibia back in line on the road with just a bit of gas and air, shant be forgetting that in a hurry

That certainly is a horrible sounding injury, you must have been in agony.
A few of my mates who have bikes have told me about how some car drivers actually seem to go out of their way to force bikes off the road etc or they just don't look or say they didn't see the bike.
I guess even if you did want to get back into biking again it's more difficult to when you have a family to think of.
Are you able to walk properly or will you be affected by your leg injuries forever?

I can walk OK now but take a fair few painkillers, codeine at the moment. It will never be right again but I wasn't planning on running any marathons anyway.

I've always loved scooters so I'm happy enough riding the old Lambretta just for fun, my daughter loves to ride pillion and I'm in a scooter club which helps with a bit of socialising.

The car driver definitely did it on purpose, he drove up the inside of me and would let me back in, he knew what he was doing and I had 2 witnesses but no reg number.

My work is mainly desk bound and I can drive an automatic car, I can mange a manual now but if I got stuck in traffic I'd be fucked, ironically my right knee was already shot partly from a rugby injury I sustained at 15 but mostly from 10 years of dancing like a loon !

I take extra care on the scooter and don't ride in the wet, just club meets and events, we spend more time on the side of the road fixing the latest breakdown than we do riding....well it's mostly taking the piss out of whoever has broken down or what bit has fallen off:D

MK 1 Golf GTi REd .

Fukin identical to that one . It was only £500 n yeah well it was only £500:\

I don't have a licence any more cos of my script , i could have kept it but it would have voided my Insurance

=D

Mine was same as Brimz.

First car was this:

1982 Volkswagen Golf GTI (Mark 1, 1600cc, 8 valve)

Bought in 1989 when I was 19. Needless to say, for insurance purposes my mum was the "owner" and "main driver" without ever sitting in the driver's seat.

Yep, most of us were too, back in the day. One incident I can think of involved me having a bit of a race with a local in his *mint* Escort RS2000 round the bypass. Near the end he attempted to outbrake & overtake me, only to lock his brakes, go right through the T junction across the main road, roll several times spectacularly, and come to a stop upside down in a hotel car park. Somehow he was uninjured (unlike his car), and I gave him a lift back into town. He kept punching my dashboard and swearing, but I didn't think it was right to say "hey! do you fucking mind?!" bearing in mind he'd just written off his pride and joy. =D

Wow who would of thought that 3 of us had the same 1st car .

A Hot Hatch lol! at that .

I got mine insured through the VW garage i was working at .

Mine was the same 1.6 as Felix's X reg . The one before they came out with the 1.8 Campaign Model with the Pirrelli Alloys n Metallic paint .

Was yours red SHM ?

Allein you have been doing yourself an injustice with your posts, you ride dare deveil maniac motorbikes in the most dare devil of ways. Taking corners at 120 mph literally on the edge of your tyres takes a lot of guts (and skill). I never got the hang of cornering (leaning over) on them, didnt have the guts, i fell off once at about 25mph and even with a helmet the thud of my head cracking against the tarmac was concussing. I took the wrong line, too fast, through a corner, and rode like a pussy ever since. Motorbikes werent for me. I only had a 100cc Suzuki something to get me around until i passed my car driving test. It was so economical for petrol, tax, and insurance. It was limited to 50 mph :(. I wouldnt have minded having more power to open it up on the long straights, but corners, argh. I only did the basic part 1 of the test, i suppose if id had further instruction i might have been taught how to take corners on them i dunno, maybe its just something tahat comes naturally for some, but not others.

maniac/speed (as in mph) adrenalin junkie in that thing?

i know its an oxymoron (ha - dont take offence dan, that was an accidental pun) . Due its low power 600cc ? i refused to slow down for corners in order to keep my speed up. Bear in mind Id only just passed my test. It could fly downhill though lol, but it was in the mini metro that i really began to get the speed adrenalin thing, as that could be pushed hard round corners without toppling over or loosing its grip as it didnt have wheelbarrow tyres like the cytroen dyan, and had a far lower centre of gravity which made its' road holding feel brilliant in comparison. Im really tempted to lie and say i had the MG metro in order to boost my credibilty here, but i didnt, it was a shit version of the metro, but it could still take tight corners on narrow country roads at 70mph which was enough to get me buzzing. I thrashed it to death (of the car), literally.

haha fair one mate

supra 3.0 Turbo as a first car, fucking hell. wicked

First car was a P reg Ford Escort when I was 18, was £200 off a family member. Unfortunately only had it for about 6 months before losing my licence due to a daft crash. Still not got round to resitting my test nearly 8 years later, maybe next year.
