Abnormally large spiders??

I'm okay with spiders outside of my body. Have awoken in a tent in Surinam with one trying to get inside my mouth. Am a bit wary since. There was one on my bed sheets last week actually but it looked/moved cute :D so I brushed it off and fell asleep. Stabbing a spider with a pen, fkin hell :sus:

dont like that RAID stuff do they?

for me the creepiest spiders are the harvestmen. unearthly looking fuckers they are. like something from war of the worlds

however, id be far more creeped out visiting thailand by the multitudinous array of sixty year old, fat, balding men chasing after girls young enough to be their granddaughters, believing it to be as a result of their magnetic personalities

I think most of the guys know that its the money the girls want - in Patong there is very little 'flirting' or chasing involved, you get the bar girls asking you to buy them a drink, you get the street girls asking if you want to fuck, you get the 'massage' girls offering 'private massage' etc. It's just a constant barrage once you leave the hotel, coke, hash, do you want a suit, tuk tuk, eat here, where you going, massage - you get to the main street and its full of hawkers selling plastic shite that you would find in the £1 shop, people with monkeys, hawks, lizards, snakes asking you to pose for them, ladyboys screaming, reps trying to get you to see a ping pong show, bar girls shouting at you, grabbing you and pulling you etc.

Those Harvestmen are really funny looking critters - I uploaded a picture a while ago of a bug I spotted that looked like an armored version of them !

Yep its winter time they always try get through the window, thing is i hate the big ones im so much of a pussy i get my bro to get rid of them. haha

I hate all that shit, being chased down the street by people peddling all sorts of shit. I've had a look at Meditapp but it looks like some kind of cold and flu remedy?

Thanks for the advice :)

Who the fuck stabs a spider with a pen?

Patong is like that all day along the main tourist streets, when the sun starts to set out come the illegal vendors and its just constant hassle. Meditapp is for sinus trouble but it makes you very sleepy /drowsy (well it does to me anyway) - valiums etc are available OTC in some of the smaller Pharmacies.

Have a good trip :)

One thing: False Black Widows. Apparently there's been shittons back home in Devon with loads of people getting bitten on the ankles and having them swell to footballs.

I haven't noticed a single spider up here but plenty of daddy longlegs which are worse because theyre stupid fucks

My flatmate is loving the influx of spiders & Daddy Longlegs as he feeds them to his Venus Flytrap plants and his other plant that is like a trumpet which the spiders fall (dropped) into where they drown in the water held inside.
Triffids are next I think.

the talk of stupid craneflies reminds me of my previous aspersion that moths were in a similar vein, what with the habitual flying around of lights. but when i learnt of the real reason they do so - i kinda felt bad for the little guys. if you arent already aware - moths were doing just fine on earth, for millions of years, before a bunch of upstart monkies went and cocked everything up.. see, they rely on the moon, totally, for figuring out where they are or where theyre heading. but when they fly by that light source - it moves infinitesimally less relative to itself. with our lights. they attempt to correct, resulting in circles ad infinitum

bearlove, it looks different to the specific features that i associate with harvestmen (and why they repulse me). i think the american version thereof is slightly different to ours, but i could be wrong. or maybe we're talking about the same thing, here we are..

Going to have to buy a job lot of these, I think.

I bought one about 5 weeks ago, they are awesome! Who WOULDNT want a carnivorous plant?
They grow real easy and get new leaves/mouths all the time! Fed mind a wasp a week ago n it still hasn't drained it of goodness yet

Just googled that thinking you were talking about a species of spider... :D

I cant see the image but I know what they are - Tiny fat body really long legs? The dimple beetles that I posted remind me of them just with armor plating - big skinny legs fat body.

yeah. but theres no discernable features on one type (ours). it looks like a furry, featureless, brown dot - with the legs you mentioned. i mention it because the other harvestmen spider is similar in legs+small body, but it has feautures and shit, not many, just enough not to give it that extra weird vibe i get off the smaller variety. its on google image under british harvestmen spider

maybe its the resting season for them and they dont require much food at this time of year, i know this applies to plants such as cacti during autumn/winter, and guess it applies to other plants that can be grown indoors too.

Fk it I cannot find my spider pictures - Scariest spider I saw was a Camel Spider (as mentioned previously), I have searched trying to find a real (to scale) image of them and this is as close as I can get to real size/scale. The one we spotted was a bit bigger than this !

yes.

but that pic makes them seem more solid and a bit darker. and more detailed than you can see with normal vision rather than a lens

I had loads of them in my garden this year, about a month ago. I'd come in after picking some brambles and find a couple of them crawling on my hair *gag* ... they're so light and floaty you can hardly feel theyre there, which makes them sound alright, like quavers or something, but they aren't, they're a bit sinister and kinda prehistoric.
