God,a creator, can make a universe appear but cant walk on water etc? Because logic reigns on all of those universes, parallel universes, dimensions and whatever else we haven't actually empirically witnessed?

Same. If so it leaves a God theory just as plausible as an atheism one

True. If I couldn't easily say "It's ALL bullshit because..." and start listing all the blatant lies and utterly ridiculous claims then I'd have to say "You might be right about this god fella, maybe he did create the universe, maybe he does love us all, maybe we do get to go bam him up when we die, how could I possibly know?"

As it stands when god etc is so tied to guys in pointy hats and no fish on Friday and a white man in the middle east walked on water while turning the water to wine and pulling a loaf of bread out it to feed 9 million Jews I can comfortably say it's all bullshit or even if it's not I want fuck all to do with it and the mad arsehole god that supposedly reigns over it.

If they didn't have to make up a load of gibberish to prove the existence of this shit then I'd be more inclined to believe bits of it.

thats rc tradition not His teaching im sure youre aware but just in case.

And He isnt tied to the church. Hes not tied to anything. but He loves His wife/spouse ( which is everyone) and loves the way we come together and worship, regardless of style. (IMO)

No such thing as "His teaching". Some dude told a story to a guy who told it to another guy who told it to a woman who told it to a dude who told it to some bloke who forgot most of it and wrote some bits of it down. Another dude told another story...

Repeat that about 12 times, add some Romans then some English cunts a few hundred years later, then some mad Papists and boom, RELIGION.

Right, I'm away lol.

well that blows for you, I hope it did anyway.

*coughs* is this thing on?

True. If I couldn't easily say "It's ALL bullshit because...

yeah, but you don't have to.

Because God as a concept of however you want to imagine it, is there anyway, regardless of how religions choose to bastardise or interpret the theory to include their prophet of the week to accommodate their cultural neediness. The religion, or Christian side of things is just a by-product due to neediness, and is merely a tool to be utilised by those wanting help to prop up (rather than understand and remedy) insecurities, and in general it just helps facilitate their inability to accept life as we really know it to be, and just serves to excuse those following it from ultimately taking responsibility for their own consciousness and behaviour, or even to deny that they are ultimately in control of their own actions at all. imho etc etc. It's just an easy way to accept things. It's totally understandable, but it's also totally nonsense.

God could exist in various other formats, huge collective consciousness etc ... blargh blargh ...

The concept of a God presence to me is still just as tangible as one not existing. The whole Christianity/Religion part isn't even tangible enough to consider for me and not worth the time arguing about. That part I find honestly embarrassing (religion/christ). It's so anti-human and remedial and childish, so it can't really interfer with the concept of a 'God' existing per se for me.

[edit]

I'd still class myself as an atheist tho. I just think the concept of a god is an acceptable concept to include amongst all the other theories going around.

and fuck me sideways .. can't believe I typed all that ^ nonsense and didn't even bother to comment on all yous twos' talks of semis*.

Clearly I must be unwell.

* the comma situation of that sentence was too complicated for me so all were omitted ;p

I understand where youre coming from but you are mistaken my friend lol ... He had followers and within that group he had 12 disciples. So the chinese whispers argument doesnt really hold water.

The teaching is all over the gospels. Love, self sacricing, abundant lavish Love.

"God" is not a theory, at least not god as in "supernatural being who created the universe".

A theory has to explain something. An explanation has to be clear. What is clear about an invisible, untouchable, unknowable entity who governs our existence? It's not clear at all, it's extremely cloudy :D

Theory or not. God is still a concept. And I have my own 'theory' on what god is (or might be). You just don't know what my theory is ;p

new thread, chop chop

'nite <3

LMAO@Thread title. book II... haha Made me chuckle.

Ok raas.. here's a few you still haven't answered: (Not that you've really answered any of them in any way other than making excuses)

According to Matthew, Jesus was born during the reign of Herod the Great (Matthew 2:1). According to Luke, Jesus was born during the first census in Israel, while Quirinius was governor of Syria (Luke 2:2). This is impossible because Herod died in March of 4 BC and the census took place in 6 and 7 AD, about 10 years after Herod's death.

In Matthew, Mark and Luke the last supper takes place on the first day of the Passover (Matthew 26:17, Mark 14:12, Luke 22:7). In John's gospel it takes place a day earlier and Jesus is crucified on the first day of the Passover (John 19:14).

There are literally loads, loads more (There's around 4 different accounts on 3 different points about what happened at the tomb).. but i won't bury you in them just yet.

Jess can you answer this one, or ask someone on Christian chat.I just know that if I spend hours researching and digging around google for a good response; it'll either get dismissed or ignored.

Let's face it, there's not a chance in a thousand that ricko will say:

"Oh, I never thought about it like that, raas. Well now you describe it to me in that way I can see clearly that the histocracy of the NT is spot on." It just ain't happenin'.

Thanks for posting that, ColtDan. I'm speechless. Just wow.

A dude called Jesus lived at some time in history? Word? Doubt it was yer man Christ though, shouting son of god etc, prolly just some guy who was handy with a saw.

You're a machine man, with a machine heart, AND A MACHINE MIND....!

These are the best questions you're coming out with now. I've already admitted i've not looked into this kinda thing. These kind of questions take a lot of research to answer properly. I wanna answer it properly rather than come out with any old shite, so just letting you know I haven't forgotten but bear with me while I find the time to give it a proper reading into.

<3Love that approach. Its the same as coming up with historical evidence.. archeological stuff etc. I don't have a clue right now, but i know, as backroll said, the truth is out there.

PinkPapaver, re cracked face, lol, maybe the sun dragged the dawn over so s/he could come up.

Raas thats synchronicity!!^ Let me ponder the questions lol..

and yes, there's a healthy theological thread in christianityforum.com for advanced stuff. RickolasNice.. could you be nice and play devils advocate for us sunshine? See whats the best they come up with and report back in a way that we can all understand? Theres a big bag in it for ya.
