Aye, some guy got caught leaving with around 50 smart phones tucked away in his bike pants, its perfect for it though. Absolutely rammed, people right up against you and when your fucked, easily done. I get really paranoid now always feel like people behind me touching, or trying too.

The sinks in WHP are funny, they are like proper low metal circles things, they do actually look like urinals, amount of times ive walked in and people are pissing in them
 
Blimey, didn't realise quite so many of you lot were near Manchester. I've only been to WHP once for 2manydjs on a Thursday night and it was full of drunk students and not a particularly great atmosphere, pretty busy and meh. Music was good though. The dog they had on the entrance looked alert enough but there are porta-loos just before the queue, in case you get paranoid. I'm tempted by the Chemical Brothers but the venue does put me off a bit, (plus the fact it's only a dj set).

It depends on your music taste, I guess.. I prefer smaller clubnights that don't have dickhead security and dickhead attendees. (Though if you like proper trance, Plasma Future is an amazing little night. For psytrance and breaks, Illuminaughty is pretty good.)
 
As a boring old fart, I find that my 'boring old fartiness' is somewhat exacerbated by the fact that you can't bloody smoke in these places anymore! How can you enjoy a night out getting off yer tits when you can't even have a fag or a spliff while you're struttin' yer stuff? The indoor smoking ban has completely wrecked any social activities for me - especially where drugz is involved...

Ive had many a spliff/fag in warehouse, its that big they cant tell where its coming from most of the time, or you could... walk to the smoking area.

@ponch what you think to Gorilla or Joshua Brooks in town now? Two small venues, both filling up now Sankeys has left. Ive had a few good nights at soundcontrol, ended up on the roof almost there once after going into the smoking area and up the fire exits.

The only other 2 bigger clubs in Manchester now are horrible, Avici White and Venus, both have strict door policys and are usually full of men in full suits etc. fucking garbage.
 
I think I must have done gorilla wrong or something. Last time I went it just seemed like a normal bar, is there an upstairs they use for club nights? ive not been to Joshua brooks for about 6 years, I think the last time I was there factory was known as paradise factory and run by the WHP lot. That used to be a great venue, factory is terrible.

Band on the wall is also an excellent venue imo.
 
some valuable advice in here. Got tickets for Armin van Buuren first weekend in October. Used to be a real trance head back in late 90's, think i might be a bit to old for it now, but fuck it, ive always wanted to go.

Sounds shite. Fuck going to a club rocking a suit like a dick. The only time I've ever seen someone get knocked back from Sub Club because of what they were wearing it was a guy in a full suit lol.

What happened to Sankeys? Did they just pack up and move to Ibiza?
 
Every year they say they will close, and then move all the staff to Ibiza, but then reopen in September and make a big deal about it all. Marketing ploy. But this time they are properly closed i think

The owner basically said he wanted all his door/bar staff, signing and production team with him in Ibiza to give it a proper chance, Sankeys Manchester had been going downhill for a while anyway. So they packed up all there stuff and fucked off, not before hosting something like 5 closing partys (like 10 in total), they did a load of day parties like 2-12, you would get chucked out at 12 then they would let new people in for 12-7/8 (or you could buy a new ticket).

Seem to be doing very well in Ibiza now anyway, first year they almost shut down after getting like 200 people odd in there a night.

Fuck them anyway, theyve been in Manc since about what 1994? Now theyve fucked off and updated there sankeys manchester page with a "Sankeys London... Coming Soon". :|
 
yeah Captain Murphy's european debut that night at Warehouse. JAMIE XX and XXXY playing in room 2 that night so should be vibey
 
Looking forward to this, any decent beans to look out for in manchester area / inside the warehouse?

Anyone got any recommendations for decent nights at the Warehouse Project? I prefer harder undergroundy stuff than commercial twaddle.. Mainly listen to psytrance, acid techno, hardstyle, dnb and a bit of dubstep but will consider anything! Thx.

Not sure about psytrance but I'm going for the Bugged Out night.
