So, I've searched the internet for a good hour to find this question. I didn't really find a direct answer, so my best bet is to ask. First, a little background info.
I went to my psychiatrist on Friday, hoping for her to prescribe me something for my lack of motivation and my procrastination/not being able to focus on one task. I've only been seeing a psychiatrist for two years, I'd say, and my first one kept putting me on different medications. Just recently, I've been looking up the symptoms of ADD/ADHD and have taken a few tests just to test the waters. Many of the symptoms matched mine, and the tests came out that I was likely to have it.
Anyways, at my psychiatrist's I explained this to her, and I asked her if I could take a test. Now, this lady is very pushy, controlling, and rude, and I told her it was in my best interest that I'd be tested. But instead, she said that if I was put on medication, it would make my anxiety worse. Having taken adderall/vyvanse before, I knew this wasn't true, but I wasn't about to just say that and blow my chance of getting it. She prescribed me 20 100 mg Modafinil pills. I was very upset about this, because I believe adderall or vyvanse is just what I need to get my life together. I almost did not graduate high school because of the issues I have, and now I find it hard to stay at task. It's quite frustrating. I had to remind her to also add my klonopin, which, I've told her countless times that .5 mg didn't work well and that I'd like to increase dosage, which is true. I'm prescribed gabapentin for sleep, and she didn't add that either, and I was just done at this point. My social anxiety is so great that I thought I could go 2 weeks without it to avoid an awkward conversation. And here I am, at 7 AM typing this out, when I could be fast asleep. I'd use my klonopin, but I need that desperately in case of a panic attack.
Now, enough with the background info. I took one 100 mg pill of Modafinil at about 3:30 yesterday. I noticed I did have energy, but I felt jittery, light headed and nauseous. No feelings of motivation. I think I read one post on a different website about this drug breaking down enzymes, which could weaken the effects of Roxi. I'm finally acquiring some roxi tomorrow, and it is me and my boyfriend's 6 month mark, and I wanted to make it special for us to be together, feeling ethereal. We enjoy taking pain killers together.
I really, really need to know if the Modafinil will greatly lessen the effect of the roxi. It costs a lot of money, and I would hate to get my hopes up even more for this. I would also hate to waste it just because I took a stupid pill that my doctor gave me that resulted in nausea.
I think the half life for 100 milligrams is 12-15 hours. I'm going to be honest here. I'm extremely bad at math and am more left brained, so I've been frustrated trying to calculate how long it would take to get out of my system.
I really need an answer by a little later today, and I really appreciate your time. If I don't receive a reply, then at least thank you for reading and I'll hope for the best.
