As you definitely know (we've spoken of it to each other and to others and others talking to others etc. etc.) the Lithium may not be the best med but - again: as we all know - It's going to be a process of trial and error.
But please just don't give up if a few different meds don't work / don't help / make things worse and ALWAYS be in contact with people who can help you through these harsh times mate <3

Thanks. I think lithium is definitely my best bet, at least to begin with. Maybe I'll end up on some other cocktail entirely, I don't know.

I'd prefer diamorphine, alprazolam and dexamphetamine, but somehow I don't see the NHS furnishing me with a script like that. =D
 
But what do you look at when you see a galaxy? Do you see potential life, or do you see inevitable death?

for some reason, after puberty we all want to get into a dark wet hole as well....

Two sides of the same coin. You have one, you have the other. If we were immortal we wouldn't value our life in the way we do. Death gives life it's significance (and vice versa). Sorry I don't seem to be finding the right words today, do you see what I'm saying? :D

I've been off the ball with comms due to family stuffs so apologies for not being around, but I genuinely didn't realise you were feeling that rotten. Hope you get the lithium script set up soon. How long after taking lithium does it normally take before you start responding to it?


Anyone know anything about gnosticism? A buddy I've had little contact with for the last year or so, who I was fairly close to seems to be going through various phases of truth seeking. He's basically gone tea totalish and keeps flitting from conspiracy obsession to trialing various different food regimes/lifestyles. I think I may have mentioned him before. His latest links he's sending me are all from gnostic radio ... from what i can gather after reading a bit about the founders of the site, it seems mainly kabbalah based?

The guy (my buddy) is sound as a pound in terms of intent, beautiful inside, but has always struggled with interaction and close relationships and psychosis. He thinks he may be a little autistic too, but I don't know much more cause we're not really chatting atm. But he does tend to be easily led a bit and jump on whatever conspiracy theory makes sense to him at the time.

The site seems to pull from most religions incl buddhism, but it's got one of the founders as being Samael Aun Weor, and after reading his wiki page I'd probably just write him off and not bother spending any time delving into the site tbh, but there seems to be a bit of interesting infoz that might be worth spending some time on.

Anyone know if it's worth me trawling through more of this guy's thoughts (listening to the lectures etc)? Is any of it useful for self-development/self-actualization? I can ignore the 'religious' nature of it if there's something of use for me to take from it behaviourly for personal use if that makes sense.

Normally i wouldn't really be interested in this kinda thing but I like that it involves psychology/consciousness/awareness, so it's mainly those parts I'd be interested in.

Is the guy a known charlatan or whackjob?

Yes.

If you want a (slightly) less mystical take on it, there's plenty out there. Phillip K. Dick's VALIS is basically Manicheanism demystified and sci-fied (and flavoured with Dick's own mental illness, but that's another story) and made into a digestible and engaging storyline.

As for the rest, there's so much out there. Gnosticism is a very broad field, but a very interesting one.

I've come across Samael Aun Weor before but never delved deeply. Though I did adopt the 'confirmation' name 'Samael' in wackier times.

Ive not heard of him..I've pretty religiously stuck to mainstream Christianity but have always meant to study some more gnostic stuff. A friend was telling me the other day actually that some early gnostic sects, believing they were one body literally, were into free love. That thinking seems interesting to me because when i do go high (which is either spirit filled, demon possessed or bi polar depending on perspective lol) sex is just innocent and i could see it how it could be free.

Lovely if you can stay up but if youre likely to swing up and down its probably prudent to behave in a way that will fit all states.. or not arghhhh i dunno. If your motives are innocent then so are you surely?

I'd say the if you look at a galaxy as a whole (rather than focussing on seperate parts) Albion and Knock then its fully alive.

I don't know a lot about gnostism but read a bit about it after reading the already mentioned vallis.

The basic belief from what I remember is that the creator God of the universe was mad who was somehow a underling of a higher god. It was a Christian sect who believed Jesus was sent from the true higher god and that getting a connection with the higher god (gnosis) could only be done through yourself not organised religion.

I have the nag hammadi scriptures but never got into them. It is a bit of a head fuck to think the god who created the universe was mad.



I think Karl Jung was interested in the idea of gnostisism in relation to Psychoanalysis.

Jung was extremely interested in gnosticism, you're right.

Not all gnosticism works on the premise of a mad creator god (a.k.a the Demiurge - usually identified with Yahweh) and a superior, benevolent being (often called Sophia), but most schools do.

Most gnostics accept this myth as just that, however, and not as objective truth

I like the name Jah more than Jehovah. Jehovah seems sterner but it really is a powerful name. If you are ill and repeat the name Jehovah Nissi (God our Healer) in faith it really gets to work. Its like youve made way in your temple for His healing presence.
