EADD What Are You Munching On v.Shite Pizza

pork chops, mash n gravy and maybe frozen peas. being on holidays last 2 weeks and eating shite food morning, noon and night. have had chipper after the pub 5 out of the last 6 nights.
 
food of the gods. Dulse / dillisk. should be sold in pubs to drive up beer sales like crisps and nuts.

I had dulse at Ould Lammas fair, and hated it. Loved yellowman though.

I'm making goats cheese and caramelised red onion quiche. The pastry case was bought, they're good things to have in the cupboard I think they cost 78p or something. As long as you've got eggs you can mix up any old stuff you've got left over in the fridge and bung it in.
 
I didn't know if I was going out or not so didn't prepare anything - when I realized it was eating at home I made a very rushed Tuna Salad (shhh out of a can, Don't tell MM). Tuna mixed with fresh and pickled Jalapeno's and chickpeas. Salad was the usual suspects chopped up into big chunks and made a quick dressing of yogurt, mint, coriander and garlic (all in a bowl and wizzed with a stick blender). Served with pickles!

Looks like a mess :D
 
I approve of tinned sardines, tinned mackerel (better than most supermarkets' fresh mackerel) and tinned pilchards.

You eat those lunches guilt free Bearlove. <3
 
Food related; earlier at a bar they served up a plate of small prawns covered in batter. I fucking luuurv prawns but they butchered them with the frying and literally all you could taste was the batter.

Fuck it - I may have some on toast now as I know its allowed. It's not that easy/quick to cook fish - firstly you need to shower afterwards (well I do), then you need to clean the cooker and the house smells. He likes fish but only if its cleaned for him (bones) - When we were away I ordered a full fish that had been steamed and topped with spices, I felt like a mother in the plaice , cleaning the thing and serving him :D. I'm planning (for the future) of building a house and having an outdoor kitchen/cooking area.

My prawn dish (above) was cooked in two stages, firstly mine as I like mine 'just done' he likes then really well done (IMO overcooked) so was left a few minutes extra.

Im with you there.

These ones were really tiny, heads and tails kept on to eat which was also a little off putting.
 
you're right, he's wrong.

I love sushi / Sashimi - he likes the stuff that has been cooked of veggy versions. If I had to push he loves the smoked Unagi (eel) - thats as raw as he will eat...... We orderd a deep fried version of it a while back (I thought it was going to be the eel that was deep fried). No - Imagine your normal day to day Sushi roll that had been dipped in batter and then deep fried (Scotland's version of Mars Bar). The outside was crispy batter - then the Nori, then the rice then mayo, some vegs and then smoked eel). Was one of the strangest things Ive ate in a while :) !

Anticipating a plateful of chips. It's a lot spicier than I remember.
 
Is it a real thing or something dyed (squid Ink etc) - Never actually cooked with the glutinous stuff before (yeah used the black 'rice' before [its not a rice]) . If I had no time then I would go sweet - IF I had a bit of time to fuck about then I would do a reversed sushi ?

If you forget the color and work with the texture then what would work - Salmon/trout would look fantastic. If your on a budget (I dont eat red meat) then flash fry some chicken/turkey and serve it - Black rice on the bottom, some greens ontop of that then your simply poached chicken (that you cooked first and used the water for your rice and added some ginger, garlic etc)
 
Feeling a bit better after chomping this down with coffee :) - Eggs were cooked with spring onion, chili and coriander :)
