Make the fat tongued cunt go away...:!

and his cuttlery

Is that some kind of contraceptive cos that's me done for the evening

He has fruit in the bath, what going on there....fruit in the bath...fruit in the bath....you can tell Peter Kays been on

Had salmon, pollack 'n' prawn crumble earlier. Was tasty. Much fishiez Chez Sham of late. Had salt 'n' pepper basa fillets recently for first time. Fine fish. Didn't really look much like generic "cod (whitefish)" really - almost more like skate or even plaice. White, kinda flaky, sweet, succulent, not overly "fishy" in flavour but more flavoursome than pollack. Thick 'n' meaty tapering away to nowt. No bones though. Dunno if that's just cos it was filleted, mind. Whatever it is/was, basa is goooooooooooood piscin' eatin' %)

Currently considering a Rustler's. They've recently (at least recently here) started selling a pack of two cheeseburgers for £2.50. Had barely been tempted but combination of "some" gin tonight and finding one of said packs in the reduced section of Co-Op earlier may just have broken my will :!

Will at least add a lomtick of Y Fenni mustard 'n' ale cheddar and a squirt of Heinz "fiery" ketchup to it when I inevitably indulge in the fairly short foreseeable though. I'm sure that will make all the difference. Positive in fact. FACT!

fucking hell :(

Nasty Burgers AND basa?

i wouldn't touch either of them with yours.

Nasty Burgers, any meat product with a 6 month shelf life and an ingredient list that runs into the '00s is wrong.

Basa? I won't eat farmed or imported fish. I'm fish snob tho innit =D

This is a bit, well a lot, over the top, but.... =D

Is that "Pangas" stuff what is sold as "Basa" here then, Mr Monkey? As I've pointed out recently, welfare is on my mind in general but is ultimately always trumped by price, taste and convenience thus far. For purely pennywise 'n' selfish reasons. I'd focus completely on the welfare aspect if the other aspects were less of interest. But they are not.

I'd not seen this Basa around before and happened to be reduced at the end of the day. In general it works out more expensive than I'd normally pay for generic "whitefish" stuffs. However, it tasted nice. It also came in portions that seemed decent value for money to my massively broken VFM indicator. Not as cheap as pollack or coley, but bigger fillets so each one goes further. I doubt there's a huge price thing either way though.

Coley is my current favourite of the generic not-cod fishiez easily available to me. Really nice flavour to it and dirt cheap. Pollack is perfectly acceptable - also dirt cheap (if not quite as dirt cheap as the former) but a bit too bland for me to ever feel enthusiastic about so when environmental/welfare concerns are added in it makes it considerably less desirable then coley. This basa fishy struck me as being decent VFM cos is thick 'n' meaty 'n' filling 'n' satisfying but also noticeably different in style to pollack and coley. Couldn't really explain how cos am a moron but more skate-y is as close as I could get. Would be no great loss to lose it. Only bought cos was cheap at end of day and hardly blew my socks off. If environmental/welfare concerns are such then I'd have no problem sticking to coley.

It really isn't easy to eat "ethically" though. Not if you don't fancy veggidom anyway. Coley appears to be a happy accident where it just so happens to be both unusually cheap and unusually tasty. Those salt 'n' pepper basa fillets are all I've seen and tasted of that species. Was okay. But not tasty enough for me to be that fussed about not bothering with again. Would be nice to expand my fishy (not to mention general meaty) repertoire though. But really is hard to do so cos essentially everything seems to fall into two categories: Horrible (for one or more of many reasons) or Expensive (cos am skint). I'd ask for recommendations but given the somewhat limited access to stuffs in general I have it'd be kinda pointless, unfortunately :!

Blimey. Now that's a ramble. So yeah. Basa: tastes okay but is apparently horrible so probably won't go out of my way to use again... unless reduced again.

Oh, and in Rustler's news? Bland as all fuckery. Most dirtburgers taste of stuff. Usually waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much stuff cos they're so horribly overprocessed. This particular dirtburger just tasted of nowt. Generic "meaty" thing betwixt to slabs of sweet clag. Much as you'd expect from Rustler's fine product range then... only with so few added "enhancers" it really does just taste of generic "tissues" that may or may not have been in contact with animals at some stage. Quorgers are far tastier. Sadly also far more expensive :\

Where you been shamby my beaut? is that a stim induced type

Sadly not :(

Just a bit drunk 'n' rambly is all. Not done proper drunk in ages so...

Have been here. Where I always am. Only choosing to restrict my "company" even more so than usual for one reason or t'other. Actually for both. And a third. And possibly forth. Reason that is. Some of said reasons would be reasonable. Others less so. Either way, am popping in tonight and appears I've dropped an excessively rambly ramble in more than one thread so far. It could be worse, I'm sure. There's even some topic in there somewhere 8o

Mmm... fried pizza <3

Only tried it the one time whilst visiting folk in Jockland. Was very clearly just a 49p value cheese 'n' tomato dipped in batter and fried. Was still very tasty though. Far more than the some of its parts. I could well imagine such things could be very tasty indeed if pizza involved was halfway decent. Although I guess that would defeat the object.

Just munched bacon butty. More butty than bacon. Mustard mayo was a fine addition but could've done with tomato.

Eating is all about defeating the object =D I have just defeated five crackers with grana padano.

Had a curry night - Cabbage n peas - Dahl (topped with burnt onions, garlic, curry leaves), and a sour Aubergine dish. Served with plain white rice and some bread.

(may look rank but it was so tasty)
