Bitcoins

Yeah, but that's how the government will see it. I fully agree with what you say.

OFAC Search for Pre-Employment Compliance and Due Diligence

companies based in the US like bitinstant are required by law to check the names of people to make sure they aren't terrorists / drug dealers

you can still use someone else's name, but I think that is a separate crime actually.

it's not illegal to buy bitcoins, it's illegal to buy drugs with them

in the end, no one is anonymous if they want you that bad, it's just a matter of staying under the radar

Stick with bitbargain. Mtgox used to allow deposits into their UK bank account, but now the only option is a Japanese one.

I would suggest avoiding any purveyor requiring any sort of jumping-through-hoops nonsense. I believe that site has its own forum that you're better off asking questions on, though. :)

I used to use bitbargain until they started asking for a scan of some ID, straight over to localbitcoins! I cant see many people wanting to upload proof of identity to a bitcoin exchange.

The BC prices are still fluctuating wildly. A coupla weeks ago they were about $70 now they are $96. Even though ive become aware of the BC price fluctuations Im not keen on becoming a BC speculator, i'll be bound to get my hands burned. For example thinmking $40 thats a fuckin great price, onlyt to see them fall to $1 or something. A simillar thing happened to me on the share market. I dont do shares anymore. I'll have to wait about 50 years just fro the shares i bought to regain their originalk value at this rate.

I thought about waiting a bit instead of buying them at an apparently high price of $96 but fuck knows where they're going next.

that attitude is why Bitcoins are a sham in and of itself

when your sole motive is to acquire them to make a return investment of fiat currency you aren't really supporting the economy as a whole, youre just supporting yourself

when everyone is out to make a quick buck the money slows down eventually, which is why anyone who sees this shit for what it really is (a way to buy drugs anonymously) is already moving on from Bitcoins

people trying to get this shit on Wall Street? man oh man how the original ideals have been tossed aside a LONG time ago

whenever more zeroes get involved people get greedy, bitcoin is no different

it can either be an ideal cryptocurrency or a joke of a real world currency, but some people just don't understand that

Eh, when did they start asking for that? Is that a very recent thing?

my sole motive isnt to make a return investment on them. It's to spend them on Plush Avenues. If the value happens to increase in the meantime, all the better, but apart from that i think i understand what you mean.

yeah my bad I wasn't trying to direct that at you personally, just venting frustration at Bitheads worldwide and their horribly skewed view of mainstream society and their opinion (let alone ability to pronounce) on Bitcoins. People only use them because it's been around longer and the big website uses them

only a matter of time before they go the way of Alonzo

Eric Eoin Marques, 28—the “largest facilitator of child porn on the planet,” according to the FBI—was recently arrested and is currently in an Irish jail awaiting the conclusion of his extradition trial. The FBI aims to bring Marques to trial in the United States. If convicted, Marques faces up to 30 years in prison.

Although the anonymous nature of Tor makes confirming identities difficult, all signs point to Marques being one of the most important men on the Dark Net: He’s allegedly the founder of Freedom Hosting, Tor’s most popular hosting service since it was created in 2008.

Freedom Hosting maintains servers for some of Tor’s most famous websites, including TorMail, long considered the most secure anonymous email operation online; major hacking and fraud forums such as HackBB;

50% of all TOR websites compromised by some malware the CIA invented, seems they are really going for this arent they. I think some of the drug website owners must be sweating now, if they can shut down 50% of all the websites on TOR cant be long untill they find the hosts of these websites...

For five years, both law enforcement and hacktivist vigilantes seemed incapable of shutting down the largest child pornography services on the Internet—virtually all of which were Freedom Hosting customers—thanks to the technology provided by Tor. Today, all of the major websites hosted by Freedom Hosting are down or are suspected of having been infected with malicious code. No one is sure how Marques was tracked down.

Noted also the CIA hosted a Child Porn website for 2 weeks to gather information, allowing the distribution of images etc...

A bitcoin crash is expected though.... to stay on topic :)

Owner of the silk road seems to be sweating on the forums though, if it was me id just smash and run with what I had. but meh

FBI running there CP website..Well deserved to catch the fuckers, its just the audacity in which they seem to operate within no boundaries which is scary

The JavaScript zero-day exploit that creates a unique cookie and sends a request to a random server that basically fingerprints your browser in some way, which is probably then correlated somewhere else since the cookie doesn't get deleted. Presumably it reports the victim's IP back to the FBI.

localbitcoins is the most fastest, cheapest, straight up piece of piss easy way of getting my coins since mtgox stopped taking uk transfers. followed by blockchain doing the same months later.

people that are jumping through hoops with these sites still and paying international charges, its pointless. far better ways to get bitcoins in the uk :)

thnks. I'll look into them when i next buy or sell any BCs. The £10 the bank charges me everty time for o foreign transction is beginining to irk me more than anything else.

its just, like, you know how yoiu becoma famililiar with one site and one process (that took quite a bit of learniniung in itself for bitstamp) i dont really relish going through the whole thing again with localbitcoins.

No offence, but they souns a bit 'small time' and the phrase running on a shoe string wouldnt even cover it. :\:?

I told you guys, everyone who rode a normal sized bus to school is already moving on from BTc
