someone mentions in the reviews having to alter files in setup as it is ready for win8 and didn't want to load win7....would I be able to cope with that?

Most people seem to say it works with windows 7 fine. think it was just that one geezer who doesnt know what he's installing that had the problem, but his son told him how to solve the problem, which says everything

Do you listen to music through the laptop inbuilt speakers?

if you've got your own set up (ie 2.1s or whatever), it seems like a fairly decent machine.

Only 3 USB slots tho, which is a bit stingy imo .. 1 usb 2 and 2 usb3

How many USB slots do you usually use?

I really wanted a 850M graphics card but I guess I would have to pay upwards of a grand for that. Yeah I would be using the laptop for photoshop, dreamweaver, illustrator, flash, ableton live, possibly video editing in the future too, and of course gaming.

I definitely would want the latest 4th gen intel processor, i5 or pref i7. 8-16GB ram, nvidia graphics as good as possible within price range. 500GB-1TB HDD, don't mind about blue ray player too much. Full HD 1080p screen, pref not glossy.

Good webcam would be cool too. I will keep looking!
 
i couldn't do photoshop/illustrator/audio production on a laptop, desktop machine are much cheaper, i5 cpu's are great value for money, plus a destop you can have 4 tft panels to work on if you want.
 
I'm on a 10inch netbook sat on a sofa doing all my photoshop/illustrator etc. work atm... So a 15inch+ screen would be a good upgrade :) I have a wireless mouse which I couldn't do it without mind you. And I check colours and formatting on a higher res screen is correct periodically on TFT screen/desktop computer. I just prefer laptops for the portability really.

I play a lot of games too. My computer has 8gb of RAM, I've had it for 3 years and I don't think I've ever capped out the 8gigs. Most that's ever in use at one time is 3-4GB.

32gb of RAM is a waste of money. Invest that money in a better graphics card instead.

Exactly what I was thinking. I've got 8gb ram in this laptop and that's well more than enough.
