Hi,
This is in the interest of harm reduction so I hope that I'm not breaking any rules and someone can help me.
I used to use dried turkish pods anywhere from 25-45g for a decent tea.
I've come across 12 fresh english pods that I'm pretty positive are papaver somniferums. So I've been told by two people and my instinct tells me they are as they look the deal, no hair on stems (minimal hair on a couple) spherical heads and they look ripe. Ome is particularly more greyish than the rest but all the crowns point upward or outward. A few are about 3-4cm diameter and some only about 1cm.
I know its a guessing game but reckon there's enough for a brew. I tried slicing straight after cutting, latex did ooze out but in the end yield was poor. And nothing came out of the greyish one at all! So I'm just gonna make a tea out of them.
Its been quite hot here the last few weeks but the couple of days prior to harvest was raining a lot. Would this matter?
Just wanna know how does strength compare, anyone had decent results out of english picked poppies?
Also whats up with the greyish one, is it ok? And also is there any harmful poppies that look identical to pap soms but are toxic?
Wanna make sure I do this right, never tried fresh english pods.
Cheers!
