As some of you might know, I tend to abuse the shit out of any drug I get ahold of.
I've been prescribed xanax for almost a year now due to anxiety issues. I ended up abusing them, didn't get addicted but got addicted to Oxycodone during that time period (6 months) then quit both drugs cold turkey which was a good idea. I still indulge in oxy's every now and then but I'm super careful now, not to mention I used to be addicted to heroin many years ago.
Since being back on xanax (today being day 1) I've planned to take them all as prescribed. I took my dose of 0.5 this morning and have been feeling like myself, its amazing. Although I also drink a LOT of coffee in the morning and the anxiety is coming back right now. What should I do, do another .5 or start cutting my coffee drinking down? I do NOT want to get addicted to xanax by any means.
Thanks for the advice.

While I don't have a ton of experience with this substance, I have used it a bit. I must admit, it could be an incredibly helpful and beneficial drug to take, assuming you follow your dose and take breaks. It is more of a "clean" upper feeling than Adderall or Ritalin, and actually, I didn't notice my CNS go up as much as it does with other strong stimulants. It's a bit of a shame doctors are petrified to script it and no pharmacies carry it just because of the name... in reality, it is quite different than the uncontrolled, "dirty" street version. It could be a very useful tool if you use it as prescribed (which you're not....haha) . As far as you're experience, I don't want to repeat what has already been said and sound like it's a lecture, but do be careful and it does effect you for 8-12 hours with the comeup in the first hour or two. You could even take some of your dose, wait, and take the rest. You'll still get the "full feeling" since they last so long. Anyway, that's enough... happy tripping and be safe!
