I can honestly say there would be no chance in hell of me ever being bullied out of a mod position, especially by a rabble of pasty skinned mdpv abusers. You have been an unruly mob of misfits for too long. Is it any wonder your token female membership refuses to get naked here? Discipline will be swift and effective, we can make this once mighty empire great again. Unless you are Portugal, in which case you are lazy and grubby and destined for mediocrity

I'm with you. So long as we don't have to do any actual work once we've overthrown the overlords yeah? We can enslave them and force them to do our bidding, or whatever. In fact even that sounds like an effort. But I like the idea of being in charge of propaganda. Can I be Goebbels on this one? He had a Hot translatress (?) in Inglorious Basters.

Aye, I don't actually want to take over. Someone else can deal with that. I just like the idea of a revolution. I also want to wear hats, have a beard and smoke cigars.

You might like Jammy Dodgers and HP fucking sauce, but it still makes no difference.

Stupid, stupid, stupid idea.

lol to the jammy Dodgers comment =D

Which one of my ideas is stupid, stupid? I have mentioned a few, they are for discussion...People are discussing things in this thread.

Or was it your idea to vote me in as a mod that was stupid, stupid?

and BHM, he's right, it doesn't matter whether you like an idea or not, your opinion makes no difference

No Daily mail reader, union member, and have seen a couple of shop stewards ousted through this route. Sometimes people need to be told when it's time to stop.

The analogy is badly flawed, there is a great deal of difference between the 'mob' ousting an incompetent leader and electing leaders in the same manner.

I union has a discrete membership that can be polled to ensure that a significant percentage actual give a flying fek about the issue.

IMHO the idea of a member vote might get a few casual posts of cynical support but it's totally unworkable in practice.

Given you were and clearly are in support of some kind of step change to the Moderator selection process I trust you have been lobbying for such since being selected under the current system ? a genuine question of interest, if you haven't then your view has little credibility

FWIW and from the little I've seen of late the current mods are doing grand job which would suggest the existing system aint all bad

No, I do think the members should have some say in who moderates them, and I've said it for a long time. They're not gonna get the final say though, as there's got to be some agreement between the mods about who they could work with. And as you said, it would need to be a workable system that means something, not just a token..."lets ask the members then completely ignore them", which is how it would APPEAR to members if their chosen candidate wasn't picked.

A vote of no-confidence could be called. I don't want to dig over old ground but there was a time in the not so distant past when it would have prevented a lot of drawn-out trouble.

I haven't been "lobbying" for any of this, but i mention them, i know none of it will happen. In part as you say, the members vote thing is pretty much unworkable.
