That's the whole point really. There's the beach adn it's such an open and free country (in the sense of being able to just take a jeep and drive around), can't see how I won't love it. Money's not the biggest concern anyway, if I don't use many drugs there I'll barely be spending anything...

You can get it at some off licence places in Shephers Bush as that has very big Aussie expat population
£7 for 4 bottles , which isnt too bad. Alo at places like Walkabout, although I dare not venture there, Ghastly place

They have a strange beer naming system there, schooners etc and all those silly names

Not a bad wage. Hears some horror stories about people who went to Shanghai to teach English and after a while the jobs fell through and then they worked at Starbucks for around £2 a hour.
Makes you wonder why they just didnt fly back home !

I think Aussie house prices are quite expensive though, but you do get more bang for your buck than a drab flat in Hammersmith
Perth has an average price now of more than most areas in London or so I heard

Its expensive for general living. Rent is mental. If you chose to live in the city you will pay about £1600 a month and trust me you want to live in the city. I've visited a few places outside the city and there isnt much happening.

Yep I agree they call a pint all different kind of names depending on what part of Aus you are in. If im honest though when I was back in Scotland recently i struggled like fuck with a pint...

Haha. It's the snakes that are a problem for me. I figure in Sydney itself I shouldn't be at too much risk of waking up next to an anaconda or something though. (they don't even have anacondas in Australia do they? oh who knows)

Yeah I wouldnt move there, too insular ,I went quite a few years ago and it seemed very Parochial.
Maybe its changed now but the way the aussie govt treats immigrants and stories I hear about some Croat friends of mines who moved to Oz and had their kids called " Wogs" each day in school doesnt lend any weight to the argument that Oz society as a whole is very tolerant of anyone who isnt actually "Australian"
