So are truffles still legal in Holland?

Well, yeah, the tourists are the ones who end up in bad situations, but to some extent the smart shop employees are to blame as well. I've heard a few of them telling young travellers (as in 16 year olds!) to just take mushrooms and go to a coffee shop and smoke a large joint while waiting for the mushrooms to kick in. That's incredibly bad advice for a first time shroomer.

I have to agree with you on this one. I was in Amsterdam recently and there are multiple shops that have hand-made "dosage posters" saying:

Beginner = 10 Grams
Intermediate = 15 Grams
Expert = 20+ Grams

I understand that these are truffles, so it takes more weight to trip, but they (both the posters and the shopkeepers) are very misleading. Don't get me wrong, I've tripped many times on a bunch of different substances and had many great times. But I took around 15 grams one night and was pretty floored. I ended up having a great time, but I can't imagine what would happen to a naive person who thought "If they're legal, they must be safe right!?!?!!" and ends up biting off way more than they can chew.

It's not necessarily all the tourists fault when powerful substances are being peddled to them purely for profit. The shops don't really care what the result of someone taking their mushrooms is as long as the person can pay for them.

^Where'd you get that from? Haven't heard anything of the sort. You're not a propaganda shill for the SGP, I hope =D

Whether or not that will lead to a ban probably depends more on whether there is an incident with mushrooms sourced from the Netherlands than on time. In other words, if it doesn't hit the fan they will probably keep slinging that shit.

Exactly, and Dutch seed suppliers have been shipping to the US for quite a while already

Thank god the lawmakers are ignorant to mycology. They banned mushrooms which are the fruiting bodies of the fungii. The underground psilocybin containing mycilium, truffles, sclerotia are still legal.

That's only Holland tho - in the UK they banned anything that contains psilocybin so that includes truffles, mycelium.

Nop, not really, but in this case: yes.

92% of the times the ambulance had to go out because of mushrooms was because of tourists.

Seems pretty clear to me.

You're always gonna have idiots though when it comes down to it.
I mean you leave hammers around some people are gonna use them for construction and others are gonna use them to kill people. Same across the board.

However the more potent and difficult to handle or administer a drug is, the bigger the risk may be of serious incidents.

Cannabis seeds are not a very fair comparison because by now people are aware of cannabis' effects and risks not being too crazy and apparently in the USA cannabis seeds are seized from mail in a rather uneventful manner.

Mushrooms don't enjoy such wide support and understanding and recently a man in the US was found who ripped his dick off. While other substances may have been at fault as well, he mainly admitted to having used mushrooms. Had they been sclerotia from Dutch soil you can imagine a rather intolerant reaction.

Still I am not worried about it too much. But I find it hard to tell if that is because it has been a long time since I used mushrooms (I really want to now though but it is difficult with meds and stuff going on), or maybe because I am growing them anyway for fun.

Was that the mushrooms making him rip his dick off tho solipsis, or was he already a fruitcake to begin with?

It's like if you get caught murdering someone you always try and emphasise how drunk you were or that you were on LSD in the hope that people who've never taken it will believe it was the LSD and not you.

If you're a true acid head you just get your cult members to kill someone for you, of course
