Any current experiences with poppy pods? New to this site, and interested. All I can find in any of the forums is old posts, and I was wondering if this is still a possibility these days in 2013? I am coming off suboxone, and extremely miserable....have done every other opiate possible and not new to that kind of thing, but want to test the waters with poppy pods. This is my 3rd day without anything, except some Kratom. Any advice? Information? Warnings? Thoughts? Recent experiences? So on and so forth? Thanks! :?

Bluelight doesn't use swim "my dog" or "my unicorn"...

No worries of using *I* here!!!

IME pods have been going down in quality and up in price over the last 5 years... haven't purchased any in the last year though...

I stick to the kratom!

Thanks

Thanks a bunch. It seemed really expensive and questionable online. I appreciate the feedback.

Woah!! You have a unicorn! That's awesome!

Maybe it'd like to drink some poppy SEED tea if it wants to test the bitter waters but can't find pods. Or look into loperamide if she's desperate. Poor unicorn. It's a sad state of affairs when even mythical creatures are suffering in this cruel world.

^ no sourcing dude.
Poppy straw is also of dubious legality, as mentioned above seed is easily available and could represent better value for money considering it could take anything from 3-15 pods to get a decent effect.
Grow your own or maybe get in deep with a crew of florists.

there is a really really nice thread about poppies and growing them floating around, i think its australian based, but still good info.

but obviously, if you are sick now, starting to grow some poppies will not do you any good as youre not going to have them instantly, they take months, and patience, which obviously is pretty hard if youre kicking.

I don't see why you would need sources anyway, a simple google search should fulfill your needs. And there is such thing as 1 day shipping if you are willing to pay the price.

Simply put yes you can get them still and they actually are in season as of late August. As was mentioned the quality (aka morphine content) isn't always great and prices are very high. I would suggest getting the larger pods if you do this, but that is no guaranteed way to get good quality, just better chances.

But do consider trying to stay away from it. I went down that road thinking it was a cheap alternative and ended up back on other stuff (oxy) in no time. Mainly it was b/c I knew I couldn't handle the withdrawal from poppy tea, it is looooong and pretty damn harsh.

Seeds would be the best value, it's really important to understand that when you're messing with poppy products it's the same as (worse than?) developing a habit to oral morphine. I never would have been able to justify taking 200mg+ of MS-Contin or similar strength of Dilaudid but i was able to rationalize drinking pod then seed tea for 3 years because there was a total disconnect from the fact that i was ingesting that high of a dose of Morphine+.

Pods, then seeds, then loperamide ran a train on my life that i'm still working my way out of 2 years hence. I was a 'good kid' who was totally functional, degreed, employed that got tired of the drama of being caught repeatedly stealing his mom's percocet. Used pods because it was 'better' than stealing pills/scheming on friends who'd just had dental surgery. Lost my job, and just circled the drain using seed tea every day/every other day, watching the totality of Netflix.

Now i'm recovering, recovering from the fallout of recovery (being mixed up with some seriously fucked up people in 12 step groups). If i could go back and find a way to accept that life was a little boring, i was a little depressed, made a little less money than i wanted, had a few more lbs. than i wanted, and hooked up with chicks that could have been a little hotter...and a bunch of shit from my past, and never touched pods,i would have. But honestly if you'd shown me a crystal ball with all the shit that i'd end up going through i definitely would have said 'naaaah that probably won't happen, i'm different, i've been taking opiates for 10 years and been alright"

Poppies are still around, albeit expensive. If I were in your shoes, I'd go with kratom or loperamide. Both are very cost-effective and take away the worst of the withdrawal symptoms for a while. Poppy seeds are an option, but dosing is so difficult it's easy to take too much and die. Some are completely inactive due to washing. Not something I'd rely on to make me feel well.
