25X-NBOMe X-APB and X-APDB to be covered by UK temporary ban.

This sort of prejudice exemplifies the problem, not the solution. How the hell can you tell that someone is irresponsible because they're on methadone? It's a prescription drug for the treatment of an addiction. We're pretty tolerant on this forum but this sort of shite is not on so quit it please.

Apart from that, welcome to Bluelight ;)

Well said. If I was a mod I'd probably have banned him on the spot :p

What would really help is having a symphathetic billionaire, like a druggie Murdoch.

Like Richard Branson perhaps.

I'm gonna wait until the last possible moment before going on any of these sites. Nothing particularly interests me but if I can get a fair whack for the money I'll go for it.

Wonder what they do with excess stock...

The solution would be for users to get politically active, like seriously active. Drug users are the least vocal minority out there, religious and sexual minorities that might even have a lower representation don't just stay quiet and take abuse from the government. Seriously it's time to speak out and make them listen to us.

To Ken & everyone who feels the same, I've got a plan!

Manchester recently made it illegal to abuse Goths. We subcultural types need to stick together. Something needs to be done to make clear to the wider community that there is NOTHING fucking wrong with being a Goth, a Rasta, a Raver, Drug User, Muslim, Satanist. We're all fucking people & we all deserve, provided we DO NOT HARM ANOTHER HUMAN BEING BY ACTION, equality of respect for our lifestyle choices.

I'm not giving my plan away yet, but in a day or two I'm starting up a SERIOUS campaign to draw us all together, to make a fucking stand. At the very latest I will begin this effort on the day of the new TCO.

I am not in favour of any ban but I am glad to see that goverment is at least adressing those compounds most likely to be abused & to cause harm. I would like to see them re-look at stuff like marijuana & consider UNBANNING some stuff so as to avoid this constant round & round of NPS - Ban - new NPS - Ban... It's just gonna go on forever if we don't get organised!

Give me a day or two to get my shit together & I'll update you all shortly. Are you with me?

Government bans 'legal highs' NBOMe and Benzo Fury | BBC

A shame because it seemed to me that 6-APB was remarkably safe while still being quite pleasant. I wonder what we'll have to suffer through before a new pleasant and safe NPS is found.
RIP APDB, we hardly knew ye.

Friends and I discussing today, totally agree about the 6 apb. Such a shame. The NBOMes however we have had a death here today from this one .

I thought we all agreed that drugs being illegal does not stop people taking them? Why are you compromising before you've even started?

For a strategy to be successful you have to be pragmatic, if you start ahead with plans to legalize crystal meth, heroin or any other maligned substance average people fear, you're going nowhere. It has to be evidence based policy based on FACTS, assess compounds one by one, their inherent risk, potential for abuse, toxicity, and then classify them accordingly. It's obvious to me that any plant should not be covered by any law, as they were here before us, whether it's weed, shrooms or poppies. With manmade chemicals, study them and legislate accordingly.

Privately I'm very Libertarian, but I'm aware that full legalization is very unlikely, we have to go step by step, slowly and gradually. The most important thing is to end the war on drugs and the spreading of lies and propaganda. One step at a time.

You sound just like Malcolm X or Mandela or someone. Not.

The strategy of public education, legislative lobbying, and litigation that had typified the Civil Rights Movement during the first half of the 20th Century broadened after Brown to a strategy that emphasized "direct action"—primarily boycotts, sit-ins, Freedom Rides, marches and similar tactics that relied on mass mobilization, nonviolent resistance and civil disobedience. This mass action approach typified the movement from 1960 to 1968.

This was people trying simply to be recognised as human beings.

This may venture into speculation territory, but from what I can see, there don't seem to be many remaining aromatc rings which appear viable in terms of mass-producing a new research-chemical.

Well, there are a few that I can see (to give one idea, the benzoxazole ring looks quite promising for a "next step" from my vantage point). However I have no idea on the chemistry difficulties -- the APBs must have been a bit of a bitch for these underground chemists to begin with because it took about two years (and many bad / dirty / crap batches) to get right.

And any potential tweak, of course, may not work. The APBs were probably the biggest win as far as MDMA clones are concerned in RC history, but many of the tweaked MDMA clones from PiHKAL and other research papers never got popular, as they were relatively weak. Some things that looked like a "win" on research papers ended up being pure shit.

One important thing of course is that many of these clones came from research papers or searchable patents. Despite some being crap, you can get a sort-of idea of which ones "substitute for MDMA", some IC values, some chemistry methods, etc. One thing I do feel is that underground chemists are running out of molecules that they can retrieve from research papers.

So practically -- barring new research papers being found -- the cupboard may be much drier in the future. You will need a brilliant person who can apply rational drug design very well (how MXE was found), elsewise you're just going to get all of this random bullshit like the "Serotoni" stuff.

As far as legality is concerned, I do find it interesting how these days it is quite often "legal" prescription drugs that are taking the heat, with people destroying their lives over things like Oxy far more than some illegal chemicals. A lot of very heady people -- think tanks and more intellectual newspapers and the like -- *do* advocate at the very least decriminalization, with outright legalization even advocated by quite a few. It is pretty clear to anyone with a brain that today's drug policy is a massive failure.

It is more the emotional masses, particularly in certain countries with a strong fundamentalist tradition, that drives today's drug policy. How can you counter that? Only very slowly, by proving that responsible usage is possible and that not everyone who tries X dies or gets addicted for life etc. I think marijuana legalization will help in this matter, as it is the best candidate for an illegal drug that many people use quite responsibly.

Really? So homosexuality was legalised because the "emotional masses" changed their minds? I'm pretty sure gay bashing was still a popular sport in the 90s and I'm sure it still has its proponents. Does a majority think it's right that we don't execute people in the UK? It certainly doesn't seem that way a lot of the time.

I for one don't know of a single homophobe outside historical accounts.

I've worked with a few, and was persecuted at school for being gay, despite the fact that I'm not gay =D so maybe my experience has tainted my view, but this happened after homosexuality was legalised. Admittedly not that long after, as in Scotland that happened in 1980! Fucking hell that's a damning indictment on the Scots.

sigh...yeah same here...i couldnt be bothered to deny it, i was greeted by homophobic chants every assembly....the teachers turned a blind eye...the twats

back on topic, been stuck at work for days...cant access RC sites on my phone was hoping they'd over looked 5Mapb...but no

dont trust anyone still stocking it [ on of the big five hasnt mentioned the m-apb ban in thier blog....seems odd, odd enough to put me off buying off them ]

real pain in the arse....got a bag of 6 just never find the time

sigh

I know this feeling. When you've been called "gay twat" enough times you just go "yeah whatever OK."

I had such a malaise about it after six years of bullying that I couldn't even be bothered to tell explain to Julian that I wasn't gay and didn't want his cock in me, so just let it happen, such was the extent of my boredom of the whole homophobia thing.

^

honestly cant tell if you're joking but...yeah...i can relate.

only came here to whinge about the drug ban....didnt see this coming !

anyone tried that seratoni stuff? seems like a potential replacement for the 5mapb

or...omg.....anyone read the stupid guardian article about the ban ??
5-it, an ingredient of 6apb kills people apparently
if they can get such easily google-able facts so horribly wrong how can we trust anything we see or read in the news ?
