Hi all,
I am a nasal heroin user who sometimes treats myself to an IV shot. My product of choice is heroin freebase ("Persian brown"), so I must treat it with an acid to make it water soluble. After acidification i run my solution through a 0,2μ micron filter and inject the filtered solution after proper sterilization of the area of injection.
Usually I use hydrochloric acid for converting the freebase because it's clean and close at hand. However, it is a very strong acid, so in order to do this right I need to work with small vials, pipettes and a digital pH-meter, to make sure that the acidity is right (~pH 4,5-5).
This is quite a laborous way to go about it, so I am interested to hear from some of you guys who use citric acid or another weak acid for preparing your shots:
-Do you get the citric acid in crystalline form and are you just using the regular food-grade stuff used for pickling etc.?
-Since it is a weak acid, I guess you need not worry about the solution becoming too acidic for the veins, so an actual pH-measurement is not required? I am however still interested in knowing how you measure out a dose of acid for your shot? Do you just eyeball it or how?
Thanks for sharing any experiences and know-how, peace!
