Guitar music may by dying out in America and by extension, the UK, however it's going stronger than ever in mainland Europe, Japan and South America. Some fantastic stuff out there if you're prepared to expand your horizons a little
 
recommend some stuff

im always expanding my horizons, i spend hours looking for tunes. but recently its mainly been electronic stuff and hip hop

Love a bit of Aesop Rock, not listened to the guy in ages actually but he's got some good lyrics just for the flow and I like his instrumental stuff just as well, tho few and far between.

Myself am listening to hip hop mostly, whatever and whoever, is just the weather for it. Liking MF Doom's Special Blends/Herbs records. Also downloaded an acid house compilation on a whim but ain't given that a listen yet.
