Best psychedelic for music appreciation?

This is crazy but I'm gonna go ahead and say first plateau DXM is pretty crazy with music

More so than MDMA for me (although I haven't done either in a while, and both are nice)

4hoMET is crazy when it comes to music, LSD can be great but it can also be terrifying, as music changes the whole trip (more so than other psychs if you ask me). I think Ketamine makes music LESS interesting. And more disjointed, however every other dissociative works well with music IMO. DXM just has what is called "music euphoria" at lower doses, and I've only taken it when I was younger and stupider but honestly I can never forget how awesome music sounded. This was like 10 years ago and left quite an impression :P

EDIT: that aside, I would probably never do dxm again, and the only other thing I wouldn't touch again under any circumstances is 2ce. 2cc is awesome though, just be careful with those 2cs (legality-wise)

I'm going to go with MDMA. LSD comes close second. If it wasn't for MDMA, I probably would have never appreciated EDM. LSD helped me expand my musical horizons in the EDM world, especially when it comes to the more psychedelic side of edm.

ketamine / mxe laying in bed with closed eyes by far, the lack of tactile information reaching the brain allows your brain to create its own scenario that is transformed in the most interesting of realistic CEVs.... elevator like motions through odd mazes that match the sound you are listening to while transforming sound into a whole new way our perspective interacts with physics ....

Definitely 4-ho-mipt by a landslide. the most incredible auditory distortions and sometimes full blown hallucinations I've ever had. Just wow!

Other notable mentions (in no particular order): 2c-e, DOC, 25c-nbome, mushrooms

if you want to include drugs like ketamine/MXE/DXM, then MXE is the best by far for music. Drifting into the hole and becoming one with the music..%)

LSD is probably my favorite for "classical" psychs. 2C-I is pretty good as well!

LSD, no doubt, end of story, period (IMO).

The great thing about LSD and music is that the synesthesia is just off the charts crazy-awesome. When I listen to music on LSD, I see these abstract, detailed, colorful 3D scenes in my imagination. It literally takes the music into higher dimensions. No other drug quite does that for me, not that I've tried anyway.

MXE is absolutely wonderful for more simplistic UNCE UNCE electronic music, but it's a double-edged sword in that it kind of makes you semi-retarded, so it's hard to appreciate more complex music like modern jazz and stuff.

Yes to LSD, I also find 4-aco-dmt gives me lovely closed eye visuals and synesthesia. Would love to try both at once. Hm I think I have a rap of one and a bottle of the other and am going to a festival in two weeks hmmmm.......

For me it's LSD aswell. The feeling when you turn on your headphones, the complete isolation from physical world. Priceless.

I'd definitely have to agree with this. Out of all of the psychedelics I've experimented with, LSD provided the most profound musical experience, especially when combined with mdma. I remember getting a back massage with the best one, and the CEV's were absolutely stunning!

lsd. ketamine is good for slower music i found, like chopped and screwed weeknd

DMT, although it's a short acting psychedelic when smoked, gives a very intense music appreciation experience while peaking on this substance.

@DwayneHoover > what dosage of HOT-7 were you on or what dose (without tolerance) do you take to achieve those effects?

Woah, how much DMT are you doing? With my dose, I wouldn't even hear the music. Auditory hallucinations kick in. I usually do 200-300mg smoked. I've used DMT more so than any other substance. If you can still hear music man you're missing out. The fractals and shit are awesome when you use 100mg or so, but to really break through take about 3 hits of a 250mg bowl, mixed with say cannabis (at least for me) or just some herb. Hold that in for about 25 seconds and exhale and hold on.

Back, on topic:
From my experience, an eighth of mushrooms will do you good. Maybe throw a little MDMA into the mix.
DXM isn't bad, but I'm not comfortable like I am on shrooms.

Are you kidding me? I could break through 15 times over with 300 mg. :|

Maybe 200. But still, profound effects at 200mg. 50-100mg gives me the fractals and color show with some auditory hallucinations. 150 upwards is more like you're completely separated from reality for a good 15 minutes. Keep in mind depending on our DMT, dosage can be different depending on the purity, extraction method, etc.

Another note, what the fuck is ego death? Maybe thats what I'm experiencing at these doses. Lol.
On more than one occasion with a heavy amount I almost black out, and when I come to reality I'm at a loss of words, super confused, and just feel odd. But the trip is absolutely amazing.

For me, it's MDMA. Hands down. The way the music is all around and through me, how I can literally touch the sound. There are no words to describe it.
