Best psychedelic for music appreciation?

Well listening to music eyes closed on HOT-7 was SPECTACULAR! Just astounding level of CEV activity and a floating/flying sense of being one with the music.

A report I posted to the What is the most visual 2C-x compound? thread
http://www.bluelight.ru/vb/threads/527864-What-is-the-most-visual-2C-x-compound

HOT-7 (a phenethylamine, yes, by Shulgin).

It is not just a pro-drug of 2-c-t-7

MUCH calmer and gentler and smoother.

EXTREMELY easy, prolific, vivid, detailed, overwhelming CEVs started at 2hr mark. Its like a key that turned on my visual system's Planetarium Projector in "Overdrive" mode.

I was watching a movie when it came on fully. Open eye visuals not much. But with each mere BLINK I would see TONS of rapid bright stuff going on "in there" in just the brief moment when eyes were closed. OK this might be pretty intense...

I had to stop movie, put on music and close my eyes. For 3 hours I was treated to a stunning show... Lots of the time I was flying, zooming all over some alien planet... landscapes, weird rock formations, alien plant jungles... from views way overhead to zooming down into and thru the strange trees... like flying thru some 3D Roger Dean (YES album cover artist) world. This would alternate with sequences of flickering animated abstract geometric designs.

i would say dissociatives almost every time they merge me with music in the most profound of ways :P
psychedelics also are good for the case but are much more unpredictable some times on lsd i feel like music is some kind of joke and cant get in touch with it at any other level just laugh my ass of at it

i can't say anything for HOT-7, but my experiences with 2C-T-7 were also filled with beautiful CEV's that went hand in hand with music and a very orgasmic body feeling. Like a private laser show or planetarium for sure.

Methoxetamine (25mg) makes me really really REALLY love dubstep and dancing like a fool.

Weed makes me appreciate more details in all music. I remember we had just hotboxed a car with a blunt, and the song "Slow Cheetah" by the RHCP (one of the greatest groups ever) came on. We had to play it again and again because it seemed to get slower and slower and more detailed each time we heard it. But there's no dancing that happens while high on weed.

High dose mushrooms on the other hand just put me OOBE/trance where i'm listening to the echoes of neurons and atoms bouncing around inside my own skull, becoming the symphony of new life explosion...

DMT, although it's a short acting psychedelic when smoked, gives a very intense music appreciation experience while peaking on this substance.

@DwayneHoover > what dosage of HOT-7 were you on or what dose (without tolerance) do you take to achieve those effects?

I've noticed they all seem to really have unique teaks to all forms of music. I suppose it would depend on my current mood to depend of which I would claim to be best. LSD for example always feels like it has a vibrant energy added to the music that courses through me and makes me want to move! 2c-e on the other hand makes me focus deeply on lyrics and what they mean.

I know im going to get a bunch of shit for saying this but in my opinion music sounds the best on DXM more specifically coricidin.......and before everyone starts saying shit like "oh try it on this, try it on that coricidin is bullshit" don't waste your time, my opinion will never change.

I noticed the lyric appreciation with 2c-e for sure! Instead of my psychedelic oriented trips, I listened to a lot of 90's hip hop during my 2c-e experience. It just felt right to listen to.

I saw further for the first time at a fest recently and I was quite high on LSD and it was one of the most beautiful, synergistic psychedelic experiences of my life.

i think its really hard to say for sure which is best, as this is very dependent on each person's experience. if one only tried 3 substances, they only have 3 substances to compare... over time ive had a variety of chemicals, and all had their distinct flavors, and almost all increase music appreciation. Actually, that would be a harder question to answer, which psychedelic doesnt add to music? :)

with that in mind, id vote for either mushrooms or lsd, for not only adding music appreciation, but also making for a more rounded expereince.

Very hard to say, I agree.

With mescaline, I have experienced music on a direct, emotional level, and cried along with the music (cried "to" the music, in the way that people can dance to music) for a good, long time.
Afterward, I felt cleansed and energized.

With LSD, I have felt single notes from an acoustic guitar splash like raindrops in my mind, and the music has saved me from insanity - which had been caused by other, more sinister music.

On DMT I have been taken along on a journey by music. I followed, and it led, and I can't say much more except that it was amazing.

I think that the mindset, the setting, and the music have as much sway as the choice of drug.

Although my experience is limited I find 2C-E to be absolutely stunning for listening to music, it's like the difference between 128kbps and FLAC, the music has an astounding quality and level to it that wasn't there before, and it all just sounds perfect and beautiful.

I also very much enjoy music on Ketamine, but I find the rule for me is: 2C-E enhances all music. Ketamine GREATLY enhances the music I wouldn't enjoy whatsoever sober, like breakbeat etc.

On DXM, music becomes so dreamy and beautiful. The atmosphere of it gets accentuated and it's soothing, calming, in the most perfect way, you just float with it and drift along an auditory river of aaaahh.

On mushrooms, music kicks fucking ass. It's crystal clear, lucid, it's fast and driving yet 5-minute rock tracks seem to go on like full classical pieces, you go RIGHT into the emotion it's conveying yet you stay happy out of your mind, it is - and I've said it before ever since my first experience - like a rock concert in your head.

Overall, I'd say shrooms take the cake on music. I'm a major music enthusiast and one of the main things I'm looking forward to in my next trip is the new collection of electronic music I've been compiling.

On my best DXM trips, music seems to permeate my body. I get really intense movement hallucinations, and it feels like my body is undulating with the music. Not to mention that music seems to intensify the visual aspect of the trip. On my worst trips, music sounds strange, foreign, and distant: It's like the song I'm listening to has been detuned, and played slower, and just sounds like shit in general.

I've only taken LSD a couple times, but I would probably throw my hat in for that. My first time taking it I went out cruising on the highway with some friends, blasting "Dark Side of the Moon", and just feeling like everything was right in the world. The second time I took it was at a concert, and I remember the opening band, whom I had never heard before, sounding like a choir of angels. They were a country/rock band with a lot of three-part harmonies, and at the time the sky outside had taken on a surreal yellow-ish tinge, everything together made it feel like a religious experience.

Weed is probably the most consistently pleasing music-enhancer (imo), though. It's pretty much my go-to tool for all things music.
