Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead.

I feel a little ashamed for actually knowing this one and not Adventures In Babysitting.

(though I think there's an identical battle scene in Ran)

Mmmmm, not really. That still I posted isn't a battle - I'm pretty sure it's the scene where the Takeda troops are organizing outside Ieyasu castle while they wait for the flute player to start playing.

And I have no idea what yours is, though it looks kind of familiar...

^ Oh well, Superman IV is pretty much the standard for movie excellence.

Your still is from Supersonic Man, btw (I ended up hunting it down through Google). I actually read about Supersonic Man in a Cracked article about terrible superhero films not too long ago and meant to watch it with friends (and lots of alcohol) but I got stoned and ended up forgetting all about it. Cheers for the reminder.

Ok, hint time: The director of the film has a name which conjures up images of white whales. Also he is French.

Army of Shadows, directed by Jean-Pierre Melville. Melville. Melville. Melv...ahhhhh, white whales. I get it now.
