Game Spot The Movie From The Still 5: Electric Shuck & Jive

i have no idea. i'm really doubting this guess, but Superman Returns? just because we are in Downtown Metropolis.

edit:
ohp, bad timing. but all is good. didn't seem like HNIF was trying to pick an impossible movie. we didn't give it a ton of time. of course easier stills will help get the game rolling and then we can get progressively harder as more people get drawn back to the thread.

but now we need someone else to go. you're here... how about it MrGrunge?

It's not exactly a challenge if you post stills with name actors and easily recognizable movies. You might as well call it, Place The Name of the Obvious Movie Here. I though the point of this game was to present a challenge. What's the point of playing if you have to have it spoon fed to you? As I said in the above comment, a simple google search describing the still provided the answer on the first page. Sigh. The movie is Ink. Great movie if you haven't checked it out and don't have an aversion to the dreaded obscure, indie films. Ok, it's someone else's turn. Better play it safe and go with a still from IMDB's top 10.

Not sure why you're getting so condescending. It's just a fact that when you post stills from films that don't have a wide or even notable distribution it brings the game to a stand-still. Chill out, dude.

Had to do a bit of research but apparently its called Ink from 2009.

I wasn't being condescending at all. It just kind of irritated me a bit that you would make a statement like, "You can't fault people for not knowing your obscure movie stills." Ink has a pretty big cult following. Just because you've never heard of or seen a movie, doesn't make it obscure. As I've already said, if we just post stills of movies that are widely known, then it's not a game. It's just a paint-by-the-numbers routine. My days of internet arguing are over, so I apologize if I came off as an ass.

Maybe not intentionally, but suggesting people "stick to the IMDB top 10" because of my "aversion to obscure, indie films" was a bit uncalled for. Believe it or not, I'm probably snobbier than you are ;)

You made a point of complaining that nobody had any guesses for the stills you posted - I remarked that it's not surprising given the obscure/cult nature of the film. That's it.

You don't have to post The Wizard of Oz stills, but the game moves at a better pace when you stick to movies that didn't have such a limited release. There's definitely some middle ground between Hollywood blockbusters and low-budget art house cinema.

Anyway, here's mine:

^ Honestly, I was kinda hoping you knew what it was, that way I didn't get called out for doing the same thing I accused Frank of doing :! (although, the director is fairly well-known and has a pretty acclaimed oeuvre )

I guess I'll add a hint: it stars a famous blues musician and a famous punk rocker.

^I haven't seen that in almost 20 years, but I seem to remember the scene where the dude does some nifty tricks with his zippo lighter.

This childhood classic was on TV earlier though, but I was disappointed they cut one of my favourite scenes out just cuz she said "fuck". :(
