Thatcher's dead

thatcher's dead thread zed. tebbitt was just on the house of lords saying how sorry he was he had to retire from cabinet to look after his wife. because he left thatcher to be destroyed by her friends or words to that effect. she was destroyed by her friends. totally. he's right. :D

and any friend of thatcher's is a friend of mine. shm do you look anything like tarzan ?

I could see SHM being like "Hezza", apart from the politics. Fantastic entertainment on QT one night when someone his equal in the audience got down to the nitty gritty with him. He had to show his ferocious intelligence and passion to get out of that one.

I dont care if hes a tory, i admire the man himself. You can tell everyone has huge respect for him when he appears on QT. Shame John Major became PM over him. I dont know all the facts but it appears that Heseltine was stiched up, one way or another.

Definitely one of the more likeable members of the Nasty Party. I've also warmed a bit to Portillo lately.

He has also genuinely tried very hard to help Liverpool and its' people. possibly to annoy Mrs T who had it on its knees. This seemed to be his pet project. More recently he's written an 180 page report of recommendations for todays government and it was reported that many of his ideas are going to be implemented.

Those were the days when individual politicians stuck to their own beliefs and values through thick and thin. Robin Cook and Claire Short were the last 2 to resign as a matter of principle i believe.

We are left with an anonymous bunch of suits who'll say anything to get elected.

So true, I can't relate atall to any of these politicians now.

She seemed approachable. Ive met Alex Carlsise (who ?) he was the liberal mp for mid-wales before Mr Kinky Girl Lembit Opek took over, and would do anything to get himself on TV. Oh how that backfired.

I had to fill Carlisle's Bentley with petrol and he left his credit card behind. Very warm and polite feller, deeply intelligent eyes, no looking down on the working class scrabbling their pittances together...

He's now a top ranking QC or something like that. I also went out with the daughter of a Green Party candidate. Unfortunately he didnt get elected. Better luck next time Mr Busby. Maybe you should have left your beret at home. I hope the beautiful ms Busby isnt reading this, her job could entail plundering this forum for info.

Thatcher may be dead; but I see no cause for celebration in the passing of a weak and frail old woman who, for a whole generation, had been powerless, leaving five other governments free to rescind the most danaging of her bad decisions in the meantime.

That's not true.

Yeah so the Bitch is dead but i think that the folk in pictures like this
*picture of posh cunts*
and many others look like they are far to young to know or be effected by anything that she did .

Neither is that.

Vile woman
The theory that she opened up the financial sector is just that a fallicy, it was going to happen regardless, especially in London as algo trading started to blossom, like fuck she did anything for the city, the city was just blessed to be located smack bang in the middle of the world clock, that was much more of a factor. especially for currency.

John Sussex wrote a great book called " Day One Trader" which should be read by many

The most telling memory of her is her insistance that she could be a "backseat driver" even when her own party were putting her out to pasture

Rejoice !!!

PS that Limmy JUSTINTV Stream from the other day was the best thing I have seen in months

The guy is a legend

I'd always been under the impression that the time zone location was the main factor in London being successful for finance. I looked up that book on Amazon, looks brilliant, have ordered :)

Speaks English/Sound transparent and reliable legal system/Plenty of auxiliary firms on hand.

Let's not forget that I did create the so-called 'Big Bang' though. Without liberation of exchange controls, we wouldn't have become a hub for that. Without an easing of taxes down from 80% on high earners, they would have relocated to a better jurisdiction. Without a removal of barriers to foreign firms setting up shop in London, we wouldn't have had hundreds of players in the banking sector pouring into London. In the 70s we were hemorrhaging top traders to places like New York, by the 80s they were coming back.

Now I ain't no Thatcher lover - far from it. But I do have the sense to realise that she's been made a scapegoat for everything that's wrong with the country today. Had she been a man, she probably wouldn't have received the amount of hatred that she has - was she really any worse than fuckin Cameron (or any other Tory PM for that matter)? The thing is, she was/is such an easy target, a total caricature of a human being that might as well have been a man in (very poor) drag. Her one saving grace was that she was honest - everyone could see she was a cunt and she made no secret of it, unlike the spineless, sneaky lying bastards we have in power today. At least we knew where we were with Maggie (i.e. at the bottom of a cesspit!). But the fact is, the country was well fucked thanks to years of a socialist government that let the unions take the piss and divided whole communities and families with their relentless strikes and victimisation of anyone who dared do an honest days work to earn a living!! Yes, Thatcher was a cunt, but so was Scargill, so were the strikers, so were the blacklegs - in fact everybody was a cunt in the 70's - it was such a dark, depressing decade for anyone that lived through it. British industry was dead long before Thatcher came in. The pits would have closed anyway (how can any business stay afloat when everyone's on fuckin strike all the time?). So someone had to get the blame, and (rightly or wrongly) it was Maggie. I do, however, find it a little sad that people have been having street parties over the death of an old lady - particularly when nearly all of the idiots I've seen taking part in these celebrations were not even born when Maggie was in power. At the end of the day though, Conservative or Labour; Right wing or Socialist; Man or Woman; anyone in power is a fuckin CUNT!!!

we wouldn't have needed all the bankers if the country still made stuff and got it out of the ground n that. this country is full of forgotten places.
